What is a Beneficial Spell?

On the Developer's Corner yesterday, Alan explains what beneficial spells are and ends with letting us know that the necro pet life tap is in the works but no deadline. Hello, I have a question regarding the caster archtype alternate advancement ability spell casting deftness. It states that this only works with beneficial spells. In most cases it is clear cut what is a beneficial spell, and what is not, however, in the case of the necromancer, there is some ambiguity I think. So my question is, are the various tap spells that benefit the caster but harm the target considered beneficial or not? Also, are the new group taps considered beneficial? Are some considered beneficial and some not? If so, which ones? I think this question is quite pertinent for any necromancer to have answered, since the value of this ability greatly depends on what spells are considered beneficial. Best, Lambik p.s. Are necro pet's lifetaps still being looked at? A 'beneficial' spell is one that helps the caster. This will exclude spells that harm others. Tap spells are not 'beneficial' spells. Beneficial is a category that we use to define spells that are essentially not damage-dealing spells. Yes, we're looking at the lifetap thing. I don't know when we'll get it fixed, though. Alan
