Something Old., Something New...

Something borrowed, oh wait no, hehe. No, this is not the introduction to a wedding, but it is the explaination by Alan Vancouvering, in Developer's Corner, of why there are mixed character models among NPC's in non Luclin areas. If you look carefully, you'll probably notice that the NPCs you see that have the old models are 'special' NPCs. For example, the Qeynos guards. This has to do with the way the old models work. Those NPCs are completely separate textures. They are not standard character models with the nifty Qeynos guard armor placed over it, they are complete and separate textures. In Firiona Vie I imagine that the old models you are seeing are the High Elf guards, in Rivervale it's probably them lil' guys with the funny hats. The same thing goes for them. Because they are not standard PC models, they didn't get replaced by the new models. In a way they aren't any different than Orcs or fire beetles. So they didn't get a make over with Luclin. Alan
