Let me express what many of you are feeling right now: Arrrrrrrrrgh! Let me in! Let me in! I want my Kitty! *breathe* OK. According to Sony, they are aware of the problems and are working on them, including bringing on more patching servers. Why they didn't think of this before, since this is almost identical to what happened at the original release is beyond me, but I'm sure they want you to play their game as much as you want to play it. Feel free to use this forum to try to help each other get into the game or to just console each other while you wait.

i get the same error at the patcher 7000tcp missing file or whatever
any way im am running win. vista and it ses the problem is

VISTA NO LONGER INCLUDES THE D3DRM.DLL FILE

can i get some tekky to school me in finding dinamic link library files
and downloading them.
and dirX9 upgrade and deleted all dll.& cfg. files and it said the same thing
well sheeeieieieieiet

yeah hi, I am having really bad problem and could use some help, When I try to start up EQ a everquest.exe entry point not found window pops up saying the procedure entry point MakeCriticalSelectionGlobal could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll. and I am absolutely stumped, and help would be great thx

when i go to play eq i get an d3dx9_.dll and then goes back to the desktop and i dont know what to do

Yeah like, i have installed the game everquest:New age, and when i attempted to run it for the first time i get a lil screen wich says, patching everquest.
And when its done i get an error wich says

ERROR DOWNLOADING PATCHER FILES
error: could not download to file
please rerun everquest.exe to try again.

Wich i did over and over again and it just doesnt help :(

Hi, w/e i am done patching when im about to load into eq it says eqgame.exe has encournted some problems and will have to close. it's been doing this for about 2 weeks now. please help

make sure u got DX9 instealled.. and have ur vid card drivers updated...

then go into ur EQ folder and delete all .dll files and all .cfg files...

then go into ur UIfiles folder and delete "default" folder ... start patcher let it download all those and bam it works

Ok, I bought Everquest: Evolution and installed it. It started to run the first patcher (the little square one), but when it gets to EverQuest.exe it only gets 50% then kicks me out and says "Everquest Patcher is already running." Can anyone help me?

i just got a new computer to play eq

after i installed EQ Trilogy i did the first patcher( then the regular pacther comes up usually) and i clicked the button play online and i got two errors:

error 1 (called Smacker Error)- MSS DLL is incorrectly installed in the windows directory
then immidiatly the second pops up:

error 2 ( called eqgame.exe - Application Error) - The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142).

I already sent sony an email, but if anyone had the same problems please help me fix it.

I try'd that but the only files in my eq directory is eqgfx_dx8.dll and eqmain.dll so can u help me please i tryd reinstalling eq like 5 times dun change nothing so thx alot!!!!

Alright for all those getting that message saying error for eqgame.exe involving eqgfx.dx8.dll all you have to do is go into your eq folder and delete the following files, eqgame.exe, eqmain.dll, eqgfx-dx8.dll, eqclient.ini. After you delete these open everquest up and after its finished patching, the normal play button will say download. It will download replacements of the files you just deleted and should work fine. Hope this helped

Hi. I'm having a problem that I noticed several others have posted but I've never seen a resolution.

'I HIT PLAY EQ IN THE SERVER SELECTION SCREEN AND THEN GAME TURNS OFF AND IT GOES BACK TO MY DESKTOP AND A WINDOW POPS UP SAYS" EQGAME.EXE IS HAVING A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE"'

I just started having the issue. I'm on WINXP using a 3dfx voodoo3 card on DSL. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but it gives the same error. I would try a reformat but this is my work computer and there is just waaaaayyyyyy too much stuff on here to back up. Can anyone please help?? I'd appreciate it.

Hi,
It is Jan 21, 2003, I just bought EQ evolutions.
Installed on an Asus MB with a Voodoo 3 3000. and everytime I choose a server and click play the window closes, and then an annoying little window comes up and says eqgame.exe has encountered and error and will need to shut down.
;-) Your not alone. I also have XP. Spoke to EQ chat support and they had me delete some files and then relaunch to get the updates. This worked......ONCE. And now I'm right back where I started from
I also installed directx 9.0b....any clues?

OK-- I found a fix for this, very simple really. It was the video card. (Though the specs of EQ state that a 16m video card is at the minimum requirement) With their new releases they changed/redesigned/updated the graphics engine of the game--this from their tech support.
I updated to a Radeon 9200 128mb, and magic~~~ error gone. Runs pretty smooth too even with my Celeron 433.
So, my Voodoo 3 3000 and EQ do not play nicely together~ get new video card.

Okay, I only have Trilogy because I'm too lazy to go out and buy another, so here's my problem. It was once downloaded on my computer, and ran fine, perfectly fine. But when I uninstalled it on accident(I went clazy mad and deleted a bunch of stuff), and tried to install it back the intallsheild thing comes up, but it acts like it's still dowload (the screen comes up with the option to modify, repair, or remove the files), and I've tried clicking every one of them. The InstallSheild wizard prep goes thru( the first bar that comes up after clicking 'install') and everything, but after that when it's supposed to be downloading, it just says that it's finished...I'm getting really fed up with this problem, so if someone doesn't help me I'm going to go insane and kill everything in my sight.

Direct3D 8 test results

Would someone explain why the second DirectX Diagnostic test Direct3D 8 fails to produce a spinning cube. And what might one do to correct this? In the past I have re-installed the VIA 4 In 1 drivers from AOpen and/or uninstalled the Video card from Device manager and rebooted to fix the problem. After doing this the test Cubes all show and spin faster than before. System resources are running at only 53%!

CPU Athlon XP 2000+
Mem 256mb DDR 2700
OS Win XP Pro & Win98 2nd (It happens with both)
Video FXF GeFORCE fx 5200

When i went to log onto everquest, it said that the shortcut was missing. So, i reinstalled the first everquest CD. Then, i tried to lod in, and a warning came up saying "The procedure entry point _AIL_DLS_set_reverb@16 could not be located in the dynamic link library mss32.dll." ALSO, when i ran the TestEverQuest icon, it came up with this at the end, "Looking up address of update server.
Connecting to update server.
Receiving file "mssdx7sh.m3_".
Connection lost.
EverQuest file update failed. If the problem persists, contact your network administrator or internet service provider for assistance.

If any one could please help me with this problem, it would be much appreciated. I am going to buy the account from a friend and the subscription ran out a few days ago and i need to change names and billing info

ok if anyone reads this, i bought a new computer with a ragepro vedio card. its working great except for a few graphics problems. 1 the characters names above their heads disappear when standing close to a wall or in open areas will be hidden by trees hills etc. number 2 the same things with spells being cast, its like they are behind the wall or the surroundings. any ideas of where i can download an updated driver or something i might do to fix this issue?
