I am still very disappointed in Sony for not making this expansion available to dedicated players that have been here since day one, unless of course they want to pay $40 to get it. Its wrong, that the veterans that have remained in this game regardless, have to pay such a high price to continue to evolve their characters, yet someone that left for a period of time, gets to come back at no expense for a period of time, then elect to continue to play at the subscription price, and gets the expansion for free along with all the little bonus items.

I can't wait to see what the next expansion will cost!

You have a point, but you are quoting the parable of the Prodigal Son. Living Legacy for one has brought me back. I was not looking forward to purchasing all of the expansions, so I never really jumped back on, until now.

Well, the whole point of Living Legacy was to get new and returning players back into the game. Living Legacy helped us veterans by the Lower Guk/BlackBurrow revamps and new armor. Other than that, it was geared to bring new people in the game to keep the game giving Sony a profit at the end of the day, which we should all be thankful for, because if SOE took a loss, none of us would be playing and Everquest would be dead or they would just keep the servers running and stop making expansions.

Also wanted to note that Living Legacy was only for players from the past, not the new...My son did try to get in on it, and was charged for a monthly subscription from day one, but had to purchase the software as well, since he was a new player. The living legacy thing that just passed, was for returning members only....and the accounts had to be in good standing when they left, as well as had to be from sometime before April I believe that they stopped playing and were then granted the SoF expansion for free if they paid a monthly subscription after the free time that was granted to them to return. Don't let anyone fool you, if you didnt buy any software prior to the living legacy promotion you were not going to get anything more than some very basic trials.. and for 14 days only. Hence is why i bought my son the anniversary expansion that gave him 13 of the 14 expansions, and only thing he is lacking is the SoF, but even though he now owned it, and was a new player, he still did not get any of the SoF promotions given to old members that returned.

I have to admit the new gear is great, but think about the veteran tradeskiller that created alloy-linked and such gear, that is now not as good as the drops in lower guk, or blackburrow. They too, have lost out. To pay $40 for one expansion, was silly, and I know many people that plain went without it for that very reason. Everyone knows that our subscription price alone keeps sony running quite profitably, along with each expansion that everyone playing has paid over the years. I bought the anniversary edition for $4.04 on Ebay for my son to play, since he liked the game so much. Of course he don't have SoF but he has everything I have in one bundle for a very low price, in comparison to what I have invested in this game. Sony has done this to us before, come out with a expansion for 29.99 and a few months later come out with a multi pack expansion to bring everyone up to equal for 19.99. I did not buy SoF and I am glad, because we all no the next expansion will have it included in it, and will be one price for both, if not all the expansions again in one. I am happy that some old players came back, that probably left after the monster mission expansion came out...lol.. but honestly, for those of us that never left, and kept buying expansion after expansion, what is in it for us!!!!
