New Spellbook Boon to Enchanters

Amid the announced changes to the UI, and the typical rumors of Jboots nerf, NPCs giving less experience per kill, and players running into higher resists rates, a quiet, unannounced bonus was slipped into the game. Prior to last night's patch, players' spellbooks contained thirty two pages, with eight spaces per page, for a maximum of 256 scribed spells. The problem became that certain classes have more spells then they have spaces for. Including new Planes of Power spells, Enchanters have available 270 different spells, fourteen over the limit.
To alleviate the problem of running out of room, when Planes of Power was released, the option to delete old spells from the spellbook was added. The logic being that a level sixty five Enchanter would have no reason to continue to hold on to a level one spell, having much more powerful abilities in her arsenal.
However, people complained, stating that forcing them to choose was unfair. Because the game did not grant enough space, it created a situation where players were unable to collect every spell if they wished.
Among the other changes from last nights patch, the spellbook was increased to fifty pages long. This gives room for up to 400 scribed spells, well over any casting class’s repertoire.
Such a drastic increase, over fifty percent, leads some to wonder why so much space was added. Rumors are circulated that it relates to the as yet unannounced project to be revealed January 15th, which many believe to be a new Everquest expansion, bringing with it new spells.

God Squad

How about some more questing type stuff. After all there are all those non believers out there who, now, can get to the realm of a god and even meet them - surely that is reason enough to allow a converstion of faith. Ie all those agnostic wizards who finally meet Sol Ro and fall for his power.
Then again conversion from a faith to agnostic when you see your god slain......

Just an idea.

YES!!!

AWESOME IDEA!!!

Oh my God, you have had a moment of genious!

Okay, changes Gods or whatnot would have to have limits. You wouldn't want peeps changing faiths so they get required faction every day to go places they shouldn't. That would allow for one major part of EQ to be worked around by players.

BUT

Allowing a change of faith at, say, level 60, and only ONCE would ROCK! Especially if they removed the deity restrictions for the second choice.

Wood Elf Druid changes to Cazic-Thule, and is now KOS in Kelethin, but not Neriak? AWESOME! I think it would allow MUCH room for expansion of content, PLUS it would allow for MUCH more personalization of your character!

They could make armor sets for race / class/ deity combos which you cannot choose when creating a character that would have the benefit of at least a completely unique look!

Imagine a Wood Elf druid dressed like a Dark Elf Shadow Knight! It would ROCK!

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I think that is the most awesome idea I have heard for game enhancement the whole time I have played EQ.

Not to mention what it could do for the storyline.
lol Dynamic content would now have a source! CHanging factions is a realistic thing that happens in real world conflicts.

For example, the first Korean war pitted US and China, but if it happened again, China would be on our side. Same thing if the Dark Eleves suddenly joined against the Crushbone Orcs (new zone possibility could be a CB zone that kinda levels the playing field.. How is it Kelethin STILL hasn't won that war? Heartwood Master alone could wipe out CB, and there would be no more war)

Thank you for an awesome idea, Nenne! They may never do it, but it is fun to just imagine the possibilities!

changing deity sweet, but only once like you said is a bummer, rather would see a long proces for building up deity faction and loyalty. (the amount of lvls spent for a deity would grant more benefits from that specific deity) Like usage of certain spells and armor. Like having an npc deity administrator in a place like sh or maybe lake rathe. After deity change a serious deity faction hit on old deity and a lesser though positive one on new faction. Like from allied going to dubious and from kos to dubious. Equipment or spells could be at least 5 or 10 seasons serving specific deity before being able to requip/scribe them.

This would also leave some room for more low end deity specific tradeskilling. Wich might encourage ppl to do some more tradeskilling. Now one of the few motivations to do so is the prayershawlquest, but mana give up on it because of all the tradeskilling involved in it. But it's a great idea, and it would allow the 1st generation players who are all agnostic due to not being able selecting a faction to choose one afterall. Just wondering if an aa should be counted as a season, or maybe half a season. Oh well we'll better leave that to decide to the peeps of verant if they ever pick up this idea.

Demi Gods

I would like to see the title of Demi God to be incorparated. Saying that if you are a level 65 and had all AA points maxed out, you would gain the title of Demi (Yourname) (Surname). And you would have invulerablity on your Deities Plane. Just and idea I would like to see. Sanarks would be a great race to introduce as a PC class.

EQ adding a Froglok race would not be in keeping with past expantions... always before there were NEVER BEFORE SEEN race add and classes...
i hope that in future expantions a few other races get more class options... like hafling beastlords... and i would like to see a race born of the planes added in a future expantion...

just my two cents

With the introduction of the PoP ability illusion froglock that does seem to lend itself to that speculation.

It would make sense because as of now that illusion is largely useless. The only real reason for a froglock faction buff would be to do some of the quests in Guk and, really, what does an enchanter need with an illusion mask?

If there were a legitimate city for newbie frogloks then it would make a lot of sense since it would follow the tradition of an enchanter having an illusion for every playable race (WHY it's such a high lvl spell I don't exactly know).

However we don't yet know if there will even be a new expansion, let along Frogloks involved. Anyone who does know isn't talking.

*Edit* I'm a dumbass, that's supposed to be a reply, not a new topic.

My only thought against the froggy race theory is that in all past additions of races it was done in a manner that left no chance for a person to have blown any chance of interaction via faction hits. The iksar (added with kunark) are hated by all and thus if you stepped on a lizard prekunark it doesn't matter they would have eaten your children anyway. Velious brought no new playable races but the Vah Shir of Luclin were implemented as a very neutral race. To make frogs a new playable race would make it a very difficult race to interact with since ogres and trolls newbie areas are teeming with baby frogs to whack and who hasn't been to guk and bloodied their weapon of choice in the slaying of a few toads. They could of course do as with the iksar and make it an all hated race but I don't see that happening again because for one it's a unique charactoristic of the iksar following a storyline of isolation(something frogloks could not claim), Also as a result of this hated status iksars were gifted with many bonuses including fire resistance, regeneration, 100 swimming ability from lvl 1, and increased AC(this also in part offsets the restriction of no classic plate armor for applicable classes). My final reason for thinkin 'no frogs in the future' is that frankly they can do better. Some may think what has that got to do with anything(i feel that at times too) but with a whole world of Luclin and the vast new planes there must be something more worthy than frogloks from the first EQ.

The Froglok PC race is coming. My guess is with the new dungeon/expansion...somewhere in mid- to late-summer, and before EQ2 release (but over-lapping beta).
New Race?

A guildy made speculation that there will be a new race to play: Frogloks. Anybody else hear anything like this? It seems like a waste of programming. Froggies. BAH! Would rather see minotaurs, but that would be seen as a reaction to Shadowbane. Maybe evil dwarves?

I personally would like to see Sarnaks as a Player race. Or perhaps Othomirs and Urthorks. They would look, and play a heck of a lot better than Frogies.
