ArenaNet opens up the December 2012 Update Teaser page. Topic of focus? WintersDay.

ArenaNet has pushed the Guild Wars 2's December update teaser page live today. The short title of the December update is WintersDay, which players of the original Guild Wars will recognize as the Tyrian version of the Christmas season.

The long title of the update is Wintersday: The Wondrous Workshop of Toymaker Tixx with a short tease of what players can expect:

"The nights may be long and dark, but Tyrians of all races keep joy alive during the ancient holiday of Wintersday. While each race celebrates Wintersday in their own unique way, children all over Tyria share a common love of one thing: toys.

"This year the city of Lion’s Arch will host the asuran Toymaker Tixx as their special Wintersday guest of honor. Before Tixx arrives in Lion’s Arch in his massive airship toy workshop, he’ll visit every major city in Tyria to deliver Wintersday toys and holiday cheer."

But what may be of most interest to you is the date for this next big update. The December patch is set to go live on December 14th with Wintersday lasting until January 3rd, 2013. This matches up closely to the dates WintersDay would go live and come down in the original Guild Wars, which holds its WintersDay finale on January 1st annually.
