At TwitchCon, ArenaNet revealed the Heart of Thorns launch trailer as well as Ranger's elite spec: Druid.
Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns is less than a month away! This weekend, ArenaNet was at force at TwitchCon delivering a lineup of live content throughout the convention. The highlights of the first day were the first reveal of Ranger's elite specialization the Druid and the all new launch trailer for HoT.
The Druid is all about support and healing throughout its set of skills as it uses a staff, glyph utilities and its all new Celestial Form.
The staff is a ranged weapon that works with a lot of positioning. This comes from piercing skills that can hit multiple targets with the proper aiming to becoming an orb of light that allows the player to quickly traverse to the targeted position before bursting into a healing explosion of light.
Players familiar with the Elementalist might recognize the glyph utilities that change their effect based on the current elemental attunement the Elementalist is currently channeling. The Druid glyphs work the same way in combination with the new Celestial Form. Once the Druid activates Celestial Form, the glyphs will swap from their base effects to their celestial effect. The heal is Glyph of Rejuvenation and will heal the Druid for about 5,000 health in addition to nearby allies for about 1,000 health. In Celestial Form the Glyph of Rejuvenation will swap these around to heal the Druid for only 1,000 health but nearby allies for 5,000 health.
Celestial Form isn't all about changing what glyphs do. This form is available to all Druids as a new F5 class mechanic skill. Entering Celestial Form will change the Druid's #1-5 skills to a new set of skills that focuses even more on healing and supporting allies.
Druid isn't the only thing that Rangers are getting in Heart of Thorns. Alongside the new elite specialization is a handful of new pets from the jungle that rangers can tame each with their own unique abilities. The list includes a lightning-based wyvern, a fire-breathing wyvern, a scale-covered dinosaur, a smoke and evasion based dinosaur and a tiger.
The other big reveal from the first day of TwitchCon was the reveal of the Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns launch trailer. You can check out the trailer below.
