Guild Wars 2 - Current State of WvW

Mike Ferguson talks the feature's state.

It's good that the Guild Wars 2 website keeps with the frequent blog posts - it's really great seeing them go into detail describing what they know about, what they're working on, and what's in the plan. And today, it's all about World vs World, that big server-crossing battleground Guild Wars 2 proudly touts.

In response to some of the issues with World vs World queues, such as multi-hour long waits like Eternal Battlegrounds while other servers have near-instant timers, they recommend joining or moving to a server with smaller queue times, which would help them spread population. Additionally, they've found a few bugs that would get some players into battlegrounds faster even though other players had waited longer, and it'll be fixed soon. Plus, with a few new tweaks, 24 hour matches have been running since Sept 1st, and after September 14th, they've been running for seven days.

World vs World was a bit rough initially for Arenanet, but it's just getting smoother with time.
