Cryptic adds a few more items to Star Trek Online's C-Store, and releases the third installment of the "Expanding Universe" video series

Cryptic Studios recently added a few more items to Star Trek Online's C-Store, the micro-transaction marketplace where players can buy everything from new costumes to Respecs. Three new items were added last week to coincide with Cryptic's "Tax Day Discount," a four-day sale that offered 25 percent off everything in the store. In last week's announcement, Cryptic named the three new items: "Federation Bridge Pack III," the "Nimbus" class starship and STO's first Emote Pack.

The new Federation Bridge Pack features "four new bridges for Federation captains, all designed with the needs of medical and research missions in mind," according to the description in the C-Store. The new "Nimbus" class ship is a Federation Deep Space Science Vessel, described by Cryptic as "a variant of the Destiny Class" that Rear Admiral rank Federation characters can unlock upon purchase. Finally, the Emote Pack offers three new emotes for all your character slots; "Frustrated," "Shoo" and "Pick Me." Screenshots of the emotes, as well as the new Nimbus class and Bridge Pack, are all available at the C-Store (the top three items are the newest).

Cryptic also released a couple new videos recently. "Expanding Universe, Part III" provides background story information about STO's "Special Task Force" missions, offering players a unique glimpse at "Species 847" and more. The same day, Cryptic posted another video titled "Cloaking," which gives players an in-game look at the Klingon ship cloaking mechanics, as well as some gameplay tips for using the ability effectively.
