But The Great One had other plans and shortly after puberty a dark female, crueler even than the harshest priests, took her away from her temple home, to begin her new training as a Shadow Knight. Under her new taskmistress, she learned true hatred, surpassing anything she had ever known, and within it, true power. On the eve of her knighthood, while alone with her thoughts for the first time in years, she realized that she had come closer to The Father as a Shadow Knight than ever she would have as a cleric. With sudden inspiration, she drew her dagger across her hand and bled upon the black, twisted Altar of Hate, vowing to spread darkness, murder, and hate to the ends of Faerun.
