EQ2 OGaming merges with EQ2 Allakhazam

The Zam Network is very excited to announce the merging of EverQuest II OGaming into the Allakhazam Network. After much planning and preparation we feel ready to unveil our newly improved EverQuest II Community resource. On behalf of the former EverQuest 2 OGaming team and all of our new friends at Allakhazam, we can not thank you enough for being so patient with us over these last months. We continue to believe and recognize that without you, none of this would be possible.

When building this site we wanted to take the best of Allakhazam and EQ2 OGaming and combine them. The entire EverQuest II OGaming database has been imported in to Allakhazam - up to and including all Echoes of Faydwer content. Further updates will continue as always. Fans of EQ2 OGaming’s editorial content will be happy to know we have moved all editorial content to EQ2 Allakhazam, and our editorial coverage will continue. Finally, you’ll notice a new layout which we hope is easy to navigate and is easy on the eyes.

Visitors of the site have much to look forward to, as our services have been refined and enhanced. The item database has been expanded to allow for a more refined and broad search. The “item by slot” search will list every item available for any particular slot, which is considerably helpful when looking at all your possibilities for your level range. Advanced item searches have new capabilities as well; searches can now be narrowed down further by tier. Moreover, you will now be able to search for equipment by multiple slot types. Combined with the ability to assign values to any particular statistic, our search tools will enable you to find items in order of importance relevant to your character.

Our Quest database has also been improved and will surely make the lives of the questing community easier. With our new database our users will gain the ability to search by quest type (e.g. heritage, hallmark, signature) in addition to difficulty. The changes are not solely database content however, as editorial features are now listed on one convenient page. This also includes the ability to comment on individual editorial items instead of going to the corresponding forum thread.

One of the most important things we try to do is to update our site frequently and quickly. We’re now using the Allakhazam database tools so it is easier for us to add information into our database. By our estimate it will take nearly 1/3 of the time to enter data than it did with our OGaming database. Finally, EQ2 Allakhazam will run on new servers with the reliability you have come to expect from Allakhazam sites. No longer will there be extended downtimes and countless error messages as experienced with our OGaming Database.

We appreciate your patience as we work out any bugs and tweak the site over the coming weeks. We’re excited for the future of the site and the benefits we can bring to the EverQuest 2 Community and we hope you are too.
