Let me get this straight...
WoW is a ripp off of FFxi, and FFxi is a rip off of Everquest?

eh...

I have more important things to waste my brain cells on, like booze, babes, bucks and booze...

So long as they're not shoving WoW down my throat.
Live and let live!

Besides half my Blist is on WoW, why would I want to join that?

fyi they all owe their respect to J.R.R. Tolkien for inventing 2/3's of the names and descriptions of monsters in the games, not to mention another 1/3 to D&D for putting pen to paper and actually drawing some of them

The Onion by no means invented fake, satirical news. -_-

To bury this thing in dung because the idea was "ripped off" would be like accusing FFXI of "ripping off" Everquest, when they're both actually based on old-school MUDs, which were in turn based off of pen and paper RPGs. They're in the same format, yes, and were progressively inspired by each other, but they made their projects their own.

I mean, sheesh ... I think some of you people wouldn't watch a modern-day sitcom because I Love Lucy already "did it." A format has to evolve and be innovated somewhere, true, but that fact doesn't forbid everyone else from taking it and doing their own thing with it. There's no need to acidly compare every little project to something similar that preceded it, and dismiss it in doing so. ***** that mentality.

I thought it was mildly funny.

Whoa, someone else who's heard of MUDs. I always get blank stares when I mention them to other players. Mostly this comes up when wishing they had something similar to MUSH (the flavor of MUD I played; RP/social) commands, for instance the sticky flag which would keep one from, oh, say, throwing a fortune egg by accident (cough cough).
