Tisirin has posted upcoming changes to structure and policies at the Official Lineage II website and message boards. Among the changes are discontinuation of the ineffective volunteer moderator program, a move to new message board software (which will mean a board wipe) and auditing of fansites to make sure they comply with the Terms of Service. Here is the full text of the update: Upcoming Changes to Lineage II Message Boards and Website Greetings, We wanted to make the Lineage II community aware of changes we will be implementing over the next month or so that involve the website and the message boards. Many of these changes will be made with the goal of standardizing such things as message board software, rules, enforcement, etc. across all current and future NCsoft titles. The following are changes that are going to be made soon or already have been made. If further changes come under consideration, we will inform the community as soon as possible. 1. The volunteer moderator program has been discontinued. We are implementing a new system of round-the-clock moderation. We want to thank the volunteer moderators for all the excellent work they have done. 2. We are currently in the process of reviewing all fansites linked to the Lineage 2 website and removing those that are not active or that violate the Terms of Service in any way. This includes any sites that advertise adena / items for sale outside the game and those that have any association / advertisements for bots or other 3rd party programs. 3. Concurrent with #2, new guidelines and processes for submitting fansites to be linked to the main Lineage II website are being implemented. 4. New message board software will be put in place soon. This will be instrumental in standardizing software across NCsoft titles so that all the message boards will run more smoothly. We are working now on the technical aspects of it, including name reservations, etc. The switch will entail starting fresh on the new boards. 5. New message board rules will be implemented immediately for the current Lineage II boards and will carry over into the new boards. These rules will be rigorously enforced in order to ensure a positive and constructive community experience for all Lineage II players.
