WildStar "Shiphands" Unofficial Reveal

Adding to the list of content that WildStar fans have to look forward to, we get a mention of a new instanced content type known as "Shiphands".

So it would seem that a new sliver of WildStar's already impressive content bundle has been "unofficially revealed". A thread regarding dungeons in WildStar started by Jdielas over on the WildStar-Central forums, was commented on by Carbine's very own CRB_Caydiem. In regards to instanced content she revealed that, along with previously revealed content, there would also be shorter instances that scale to include 1-5 players known as "Shiphands".

"There's one other type of instanced content that hasn't been mentioned. We have some smaller instances that scale from 1-5 people called (at the moment) Shiphands. These experiences are meant to be quicker than your average dungeon, anywhere from 15-45 minutes, and take you elsewhere for a while. The dangers of space are many...

While we don't have a ton of these, we do try to have one in each level band to allow for a departure from normal questing if you don't have the time to do a full dungeon."

Reading further along in the thread, CRB_Caydiem also mentions that these are designed to be a little easier than dungeons, but serve to help break up questing for those who may want to get into some instanced content, but don't necessarily have time to run a 5-man dungeon or an "Adventure".

Since this is in no way an "official reveal", details regarding Shiphands are possibly still subject to change. However, it seems like Carbine is definitely trying to make sure that players have loads of content to do not only when they hit "Elder-Game", but also while they're making the journey to level cap. With 5-man dungeons, Adventures, Housing Expeditions, solo-instances, 20-man raiding, 40-man raiding, Arenas, Battlegrounds, Warplots and now Shiphands; one has to wonder what Carbine isn't willing to put into their game. Needless to say, having loads of content is never a bad thing in your MMORPG.
