Back in July, Square Enix announced that, as part of their ongoing celebration of Final Fantasy XI's eleventh year anniversary, they will be giving free access to the alternate world of Abyssea. Today, full details on this monumental occasion have been revealed! For those that haven't taken their first steps into the mysterious lands parallel to Vana'diel, there are challenges around every Conflux, but the rewards are great indeed!

In celebration of FINAL FANTASY XI's eleventh year of service, we're giving away all three Abyssea battle area expansions, along with a few key items to help with your adventures there.
For those who have yet to trek into the otherworldly and violet-hued wilderness to obtain Empyrean equipment, unfurl the story by undertaking missions, or gain massive amounts of experience from the perverse foes within, now is the time!

This event will be held from Friday, August 9, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. to Friday, October 11, 2013 at 7:59 a.m.
