Riot Games Announce LCS Season 3 Finals Venue

Riot Games has announced the venue for the finals of LCS Season 3!

Riot Games has announced the LCS Season 3 Semi-Finals are to be held at the Galen Centre, while the world Finals will take place in the Staples Center, home of the Lakers and Kings.

eSport has been growing exponentially over the last few years, with MLG announcing record attendance at the recent MLG Anaheim and EVO announcing over 6,000 tournament entries across 9 titles and the continual growth of its prize pool.

Riot Games is most certainly at the forefront of that charge. With its massive title League of Legends seeing weekly competition in LCS across North America, Europe and Asia.

Now in its third season, last year’s season finals in the Galen Centre saw 7,000 live spectators in attendance, with millions more online. This year, Riot Games is looking to sell out the Staples Center with passionate gamers.

First the teams need to get there, competing each week in the LCS, the summer split is drawing to a close and the playoffs will soon take place, along with qualifiers at PAX Prime and Gamescom for North America and Europe respectively.

In the end, 14 qualifying teams from North America, Europe, Korea, China, Southeast Asia, and an additional wildcard team, will compete at the Galen Centre semi-finals for a share of the $2,000,000 prize pool. The first place finisher at the Finals is set to take home $1,000,000, bringing the season total to over 18 million dollars.

Regardless if you are a fan of watching the best players duke it out or not, it is sure to be a spectacle that you’ll not want to miss.
