Planetside 2 Arrives at MLG

Requesting MLG drop

PlanetSide 2 has had competitive roots for some time now, and MLG has added them to their roster. Competing players will be able to qualify through MLG's own GameBattles online competition, and there will be PlanetSide 2 setups this March 15th, in the Dallas Winter Championship. In the next few weeks, MLG will release more information about upcoming broadcasts and more.

If you play PlanetSide 2, now might be a good time to prep your game.

Lets wait and see...

This is a really really strange move from SOE, honestly I nor anybody in the eSports scene truly understand this decision. PlanetSide 2 is competitive in certain aspects--sure---but it lacks any competitive gameplay modes such as those present in Guild Wars 2 or Firefall (to name two other MMO's looking to eSports).

SOE should be releasing their plans for the next 6 months during the UES today, so we should wait and see what they have in mind -- My guess is they will announce an instanced arena-like map to be showcased at the coming MLG Winter Championships in March. And if not then I don't know what they expect people to play on the MLG GameBattles Tournaments.
