Brandon Beck Speaks on LoL's Future

Riot Games' CEO Outlines Season Three

Riot Games' CEO Brandon Beck spoke to Forbes recently and the second part of that conversation is online now.

Beck talked of the huge changes coming to the League of Legends Championship Series Tournament in Season Three.

When speaking on the disparity between gamers' revenue generated by streaming and attending the tournaments, Beck stated:

"All of the teams in the Champion League will be salaried. That’s meant to cover cost of living. They’ll have stipends that cover travel, housing, and things like that. They’ll have fantastic opportunities for sponsorships, and certainly a very large prize pool."

Which I'm sure will do nothing but encourage summoners with dreams of taking on the pros in the future - in my case, the very distant future.

Beck also spoke of the focus for improving the quality of the sport in regards to the main focus of improvements for the next season:

"Our focus for Season 3 is way more on three dimensions: (1) higher quality broadcasts, (2) higher quality live events with both of those approaching sports quality, and (3) the players."

With the impressive quality of the recent broadcasts, LoL fans should be in for a treat.
