Attention PlayStation 3 users! Starting today, March 29, Free Realms is now available as a free download on the PlayStation Network. In the press release, Sony Online Entertainment boasts that Free Realms is "the first free-to-play MMO and the first family-friendly MMO to hit any console to date."

SOE is no stranger to bringing MMOs to the PS3. DC Universe Online launched on the console in January, and the superhero game actually became available as a PS3 digital download last week.
