And they beat World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and Star Wars: The Old Republic to do it.

Guild Wars 2 entered last week's GamesCom exhibition ready to show off their first playable demo, and they walked away with the "Best Online Game" award. It's a pretty big feat for ArenaNet, especially since they beat MMO juggernauts Star Wars: The Old Republic and freaking WoW: Cataclysm to do it. They also beat MMOs Black Prophecy and Poisonville.
