If you're a Trekkie (or Trekker), you may be aware the official Star Trek convention is being held in Las Vegas from Aug. 6-9. The event, which is presented by Creation Entertainment, is the world's biggest convention dedicated to Gene Roddenberry's beloved franchise. Guests include William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Zachary Quinto, and even Christopher Lloyd. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

While the convention may be of interest to general Star Trek fans, those who are anticipating the upcoming MMO will be happy to know the Star Trek Online team is holding a meet and greet at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel on Saturday between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. This continues to demonstrate the game will hopefully hold true to the series, and that the team is embracing the truly dedicated fans who are attending the event.

According to the announcement on the STO Web site, more details on the meet and greet will be released shortly. (UPDATE: More information on the meet and greet has been posted here. The first 100 attendees will receive two complementary drinks, and the first 25 will get a special prize.)
