Mythic Retracts Class Changes in 1.3 (For Now)

In a post earlier today in Warhammer Online's European forums, Community Manager "Imaad" released a statement from Mythic's Combat and Career Lead developer, Adam Gershowitz. The statement breaks the news that the planned class mechanic changes (or as Mythic dubs it, "Combat and Career adjustments") have been removed from the upcoming and significant 1.3 content patch.

"We have [...] found a number of changes to be controversial within the community, including the adjustments to Stat Factors, Healing Effectiveness, and concerns about the Warrior Priest and Disciple careers," Gershowitz explained in the post. "Due to the complexity of the changes, it becomes very difficult to simply separate out specific items from the patch without altering other changes in unexpected ways."

"As a result of this, and to ensure the very best possible patch content," Gershowitz continued, "we have decided to split the Career balance changes out of our 1.3 patch. This will allow us to continue working with our Public Test community to further shape the upcoming career adjustments into a more stable, understandable, and fun experience for all."

So as it turns out, Mythic will be stripping out most—if not all—of the previously-planned class mechanic changes until a later patch, presumably a yet-to-be announced 1.3x series. The class changes are noted to be removed at the start of "Phase 3" of the currently-ongoing 1.3 content updates on the PTR.

Does this mean the long-awaited class mechanic rebalance and fixing will never come? It doesn't appear that way. The post eludes to the Mythic team just putting it on the back burner for now, until they get it right (whatever that entails is anyone's guess). Let's just hope thousands more don't walk away from the game in the mean time.
