I would have been axious for SWG to come out, since it has some interesting ideas about how to move EQ-type gaming into being more fun for everyone instead of just for those who play 8 hours a day, 6 days a week.
However, their decision to restrict players to one character per account, and the truly lame job they've done in explaining it has put me off.
They basically explained it as a way to save money by not buying so much disk space, but mostly focused on how it would make people play the game the way they wanted it played. This smacks of being the worst of the EQ GM attitude as a lifestyle choice. Ick!
I'll wait and see if EQ2 learns any lessons.
Star Wars Galaxies
It seems that everyone is anxiously awaiting the release of Star Wars Galaxies - An Empire Divided. SWG has made the number one spot on IGN's top 100 list of the PC games players are most looking forward to, and has made at least within the top ten in numerous other polls and surveys.
