Square Enix Policy Concerning Third-Party Tool Use

We have recently discovered some of our players to be using third-party "hacking" tools to move their characters instantaneously around dungeons and battlefields alike. In FINAL FANTASY XI, the use of any software or hardware not provided by or approved by Square Enix is strictly prohibited. While we make no specific official announcements regularly to this effect, we do in fact implement a variety of devices to counter such behavior with each version update, and we duly punish any and all players we find to be using such tools. In today's version update, we implemented counter-measures to address the irregular movement described above. We can and will take further action as necessary against players caught using similar tools in the future as well. Thank you for your cooperation, and thank you again for playing FINAL FANTASY XI.

Yes if you get caught (somehow) using programs such as the windower, a GM will ban you (AHAHAHA!!) while CGFs continue to monopolize NMs, MPK, Steal NMs, and bot all over Vanadiel.

Good Stuff.

Windower -.-

Microsoft Windows its a multitasking operating system, said that, must if not all the programs or games developed to run there should be that way making an application to stay on top blocking everything else its as dumb as the developers of square enix. Multi task means you can be on a lot of stuff at the same time, as i can be lfg while reading news or watching videos or anithing else i wanted to.

MOFOS OF SQUAREENIX.

The funny **** is that they try to hard and hackers will be allways there messing with them.

Mofos? would you rather it that SE took no action at all, and as a result you lose out on many NMs because of gilsellers using these hack tools?
Wow.

Well...That's probably one of the most interesting hacks I've ever heard of. Seemingly useless, especially when we have Sneak and Invis. Oh well, maybe I'm wrong.

Watch the videos; someone found a way to instantly teleport short distances.

Windower is also against ToS, but not nearly as volatile and unbalancing as this app...

what SE was talking about was a program which allowed you to do stuff like go on the top of the towers in sauromuge champaigne (sic)

Some of hacking tools are bad. Like a mining bot. You can set the pattern for them to move around and mine particular spots. Those are bad. But there are others like windower and chat loggers which do no harm. I think SE should make their own versions of these for people's enjoyment. They cause no harm afterall.

Ever since the update, my windower still works full-screen for screenshots and such, and I can still see my task manager, but I can no longer bring any other progams to the front like email or internet explorer. I have not tried it in a smaller windowed mode. I hope SE decides that windowers are OK, or even builds one into FF, because the ability to do other things while running FF is what makes the endless waiting periods in this game semi-bearable.

It's so easy to fix any of the updates that break the windower...check archbells site after an update, the forums usually hold a fix...
O.O
