Adventurer Appreciation Campaign

Even the heads of state agree that the safety of our nations, the security of our cities, and the peaceful lives of our citizens are all made possible through the tireless efforts of Vana'diel's adventurers. And now those same adventurers have taken the battle against evil and chaos to the lands of the Near East. It will only be a matter of time before the nation of Aht Urhgan also comes to appreciate their invaluable contributions... It is time for adventurers to reap the rewards of their service! Once again, the nations of San d'Oria, Bastok, and Windurst will become the stage for the "Adventurer Appreciation Campaign." During the planned events, adventurers will receive gifts of gratitude from the townspeople and hear detailed reports of their conquests in battle (based on data secretly collected by the M.H.M.U.). Behind this display of appreciation, perhaps there is a desire to stem the tide of adventurers leaving for Near Eastern shores... In any case, the citizens of Vana'diel have the following message for their beloved heroes: "Adventurers great and small, you have our heartfelt gratitude! Your dedication and courage have made Vana'diel the wonderful place it is today!" Event Locations Southern San d'Oria Northern San d'Oria Bastok Mines Bastok Markets Windurst Waters Windurst Woods Event Schedule This event is scheduled to begin on May 11 at 17:00 and end on May 31 at 0:00 (PDT).

Reports are coming in that the following have been won by some players thusfar:

• Adventuring Certificate (YES!!!)
• Silver Moogle Belt
• Bronze Moogle Belt

This looks like the 2004 event (as opposed to the 2005 disaster). MAYBE the Chocobo Wand will still be a reward.

if its anything like the last few times theyve done this, it basically tells you how many times youve tasted dirt, your chat frequency, mobs killed, parties joined, a bunch of random fun stuff that just tells all of us how little lives we have.

oh, and it ranks your adventuring on a scale, last time i was 12, and i think most of the better players at the time were 18, out of what i have no idea.
Nooooooooo!
# May 09 2006 at 10:25 PM Rating: Decent
I hope it isn't a Chocobo Wand and Moogle Rod, simply because I JUST got mine, and I want to feel special for a while longer...

Only 18 or less people on my server have a Moogle Rod, so I feel special... don't take that away from me!

Yeah that's right only offer the chocobo wand and the moogle wand until you get it and then forget the rest of the players. What a selfish ******* sword. ::shakes head:: I guess we'll tell all the noobs to avoid this quest just for you to feel special.

Just so you know... if those items are what make you special in the game, I feel sorry for you.

I know this event happened long time ago in the past, but in FF7 they had the same thing! A man in the cave told you how many times you flee'd from battle, etc. Fun times reminiscing =D

SO that description doesn't give you jack **** information.

What exactly will you be told? Your death count only?
How about damage handed out? Raises given? HP restored?Food eaten? Levels gained?

Kill count, Death count, Chat count are the 3 that I remember... Pretty sure there was more than that, but those are the main ones... Damage, raises, hp, food & levels were /not/ counted.

The rewards for the ill-made 2005 event were a Homing Ring and a Return Ring, but thanks to the way they were awarded and likely a bad translation job, nobody fully understood exactly how to get them.

That you could also only try once per day meant that only the lucky or the truly dedicated managed to get both.

In fact, a couple of weeks after the event, SE just went and added both to the Conquest Points guards as buyable items, since nobody really got them during the event.

It's my hope that - like the brought back the stables collars in the Festival of Swords - they'll bring back the Moogle Belts, the Chocobo Wands and the Adventuring Certificate furnishing that were given out way back in the 2004 Adventurer Appreciation event.

I hope this in particular, because not only have 360 users never had a chance at them before, but neither have European players, since they got the game as recently as September 2004.

I loved this event last year, I hope they've added some more data to check but unless there's more info they've been collecting from game launch and for some reason didn't give us the chance to see it during last years event, I dont know if there will be.
