The quests are still repeatable if you have fulfilled the requirements for participation. However, changing your nationality will reset your progress record, and you will no longer be able to use regional teleportation. In order to utilize the teleportation service once again, you must receive and complete the supply quests from a guard in your new nation. The chocobo fares in San d'Oria, Bastok, Windurst, Jeuno, and the crags of Holla, Dem, and Mea will drop more rapidly than before the version update. [System-related] The following functions have been added to the Diorama Abdhaljs-Ghelsba reservation system: - Any block of time up to 2 days after the reservation date can now be reserved. - It is now possible to set participation requirements when making a reservation. - By selecting the “Recruiting Members” option during the reservation process, prospective participants will now receive a page of the Ballista Redbook from Tillecoe. In a previous update, damage taken during Conflict (PvP) by melee, ranged, and magic attacks was adjusted to an amount relatively lower than damage taken in regular battles with monsters. With this month’s version update, damage taken by techniques that hit multiple times has been adjusted in the same manner. This modification applies to job traits and weapon skills that allow the player to land consecutive hits (e.g., Double Attack, Triple Attack, Rampage). The distance detection for auto-attack will now function correctly for PCs who have been the target of “Provoke” in a Conflict match. Menu shading has been adjusted. The terms "Dynamis - Tavnazia" and "Abdhaljs Isle-Purgonorgo" have been added to the auto-translate function. The following restrictions have been placed on delivering gil: The maximum amount of money that can be sent at one time has now been set to 1 million gil. Gil can now only be placed in one of the 8 delivery slots. *No restrictions apply to receiving gil. A message describing the transaction will now be displayed when buying or selling items at a shop. The message that is displayed when buying a stackable item in multiple amounts from a guild has been changed from “You buy (number) (item name) from the shop” to “You buy (number) (item name) from the guild.” [Other Content] Further adjustments were made to compensate for the inconsistency in fishing difficulty experienced by different clients. In the case where a fish registered for Fish Ranking didn’t make the cutoff point, or was pushed out of the ranking by another registered fish, the NPC Chenon would respond to registration enquiries with “You currently have no entries registered for Fish Ranking.” This issue has now been corrected. [Windows Version] A “Pattern D” has been added to the FINAL FANTASY XI Gamepad Config program. FINAL FANTASY XI is now compatible with Intel Viiv technology. When using the Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 operating system, it is possible to start FINAL FANTASY XI from the shortcut located in the “More Programs” menu. *This does not guarantee that FINAL FANTASY XI will run on a Windows PC installed with Intel Viiv technology. [Xbox 360 Beta] The user interface has been increased in scale for HDTV displays. It is now possible to enter numbers from the numeric keypad when using a USB keyboard. The scheduled recipe change for “Tavnazian tacos” mentioned in the February 2nd, 2006 Topics (FINAL FANTASY XI official homepage) will now take place in a later version update.

Listen people,

It's not a perfect world. Stop complaining about the "Gil Update". SE obviously has a plan to end gilselling, so let them work their trade.

Sometimes the "Good guys" have to sacrifice, to achieve success. Eventually more gil/gilsellers/buyers will be taken out of circulation. This is the primary objective. If you have to log in and out more than once to send gil to your mule, then start sending them gil as soon as you log on, and get it out of the way before you start exploring. SE might have other behind the scenes monitoring implimented with this update, that will assist in tracking down Gilsellers/buyers. So let the update be. I don't ever remember seeing an overflow of threads that mentioned/suggested this type of update. SE was working hard to figure this out, and in turn weighed the pro's and con's. This is the way, and let's just sit back and watch.

The only thing I can see gilsellers do to counter this update, is offer more gil than you pay for, to recieve it over a period of time. Ex.
Gilseller> stay in MH Please
Gilbuyer> All Right!
Gilseller> 1,000,000G/10,000,000G Please Check it!
Gilbuyer> Understood.
Gilseller> 2,000,000G/10,000,000G Please Check it!
Gilbuyer> 2,000,000G Found It!

....

Gilseller> 10,000,000G/10,000,000G You can have this.
Gilbuyer> 10,000,000G Mine!

Or Gilsellers can start utilizing more Mules, to send gil in amounts of 8,000,000G at a time.

Either way, I'm certain SE has thought of this, and is ready to counter it. So just sit back and relax everyone.

I think the 1 mill limit is pretty tight if you ask me. So you get a drop from an NM that everyone wants you to sell and split, and its worth say 10 mil, and a few members in that group you dont see often. Now when the item sells you can't just send everyone there cut. You got to do it one at a time. Sometimes people don't check there box for a few days either cause there not on or its backed right up. Well, its definately gonna be a slower process and an inconvience. I guess everyone got to /random now to see who gets the gil sent first, lol.

And about the wood update...I think the 99 stacks for boltheads will be great for rangers who craft there own bolts and arrows. To bad they didn't do that with crystals too.
And does anyone know if ash lumber got the 99 stack deal too? that would be great.

and i so called the gil amount update back when there was an announcement about deleting gilsellers XD

I fully agree with the legitamacy of this statement about the NM splitting. I seriously think this will cut down on people even willing to help with BCNM's and KSNM's. If it takes you a week or two to recieve your cut of the gil, what was the point? You could have farmed that gil by that time. Most often or not the reason why you even do a bcnm or ksnm is for the quick money which is needed at that time. Why should your poor char suffer and wait 2 weeks while you wait for the gil you needed to continue your progress? In these terms, it's more of a hinderence to your char's progression in the game. SE would be better off just capping prices on the AH to a fair amount if the community's greed get's out of hand.

Just a thought... wait until that person is online, send them a mesage that says "Hello, I sold that insect wing we camped the other day! Could you go to your MH?" And then when they get to their MH, send them the money. And if it's more than 1 mil, send it, wait for them to take it, send again. It takes all of a minute to do... if someone really needs that gil, they shouldn't have a problem going to their MH. Or... maybe you could even meet them and hand it off! There're no restrictions on trading Gil, it seems. Honestly, I kinda like that better than having one of my outbox slots taken up for a week because someone doesn't go get their gil.

Trust me, if we can get 18 people organized to beat Divine Might, I think we can figure out how to take down "Delivery Box Prime".

"boo hoo" is right. If you do a bcnm/ksnm/nm, its probably with people that play often. The gil sending only applys to gil going thru the delevery box. SO JUST GO MEET THE PEOPLE YOU DID IT WITH AND 'TRADE' THE GIL. No need to make a big deal about nothing. The only thing this affects is gilsellers/buyers and people sending gil to their mules.

Now i know everyone thinks this is going to be such a great stop on Gill Selling, but honestly it's not going to be anything but a annoyance to us normal players. If you've ever played any other MMORPG that doesnt have a delivery system (i.e. EQ1, EQ2[im sure there's more, just those are the only one's i've played]) gilselling is still very much alive in those games. The only differance now is you have to meet the gilseller. I know people say "Well now SE can set a trap and catch them," i doubt this will happen, that's just too much time for SE to do something. And as i've stated before, it's never stopped gil selling in other games.

However, SE i do appriciate your attempt to stop gil selling. I have been very proud of your last few updates with the MPK system and all. Though i really dont see the point behind making all my woodworking items stack to 99... it's going to send the price throught the roof. Already the price for 12 bolts heads are 9k on my server, imagine 99. It doesnt look like they changed the recipe to make bolt heads, maybe they added a new recipe. One can only hope.

Yeah its gonna be annoying when you need to send gil to more than 1 person, but its a small price to pay. However, I think, that if they could, a better solution would be to make it a max of 1 mil gil in the box at a time, with no slot limitations. Yet the reason for the 1 slot limit is so that 1 gilseller cant feed an entire server by themself, its not just that 1 person will need to send 5 mil, 1 mil at a time, its that now they can only send 1 person 1 mil at a time. Now the number of characters needed to supply a server will be 8 fold. So we have to suffer a little, but the gilsellers will be suffering ALOT! ^^ and I dont know about you but that makes me very happy. Laters, and give me some feed back, either respond, rate me, or both. I wanna know if I am making sense or not. ^^

If the Gilsellers are willing to risk having to meet face-to-face with their buyers to trade more than 1 million gil, they can still trade. But how will they know the buyer isn't making the deal purely to get a name to report? ;3 They can't know, and that's the additional beauty of it. There's a real risk now. No more hiding behind names that are long gone by the time the money is sent -- all it takes is a "buyer" -- vigilante or official -- to get the character name during the face-to-face trade and turn the name in.

I like it I like it.

I agree...

I don't think anyone should be complaining about this at all, it is somwhat of an inconvience to normal players, but think of how much this is going to affect gilsellers. You guys that are asking for them to make it so you can send between your mules, don't forget Gilsellers have mules too, lots and lots of them... not only does this keep gilsellers from sending large amounts of money to players, but also between themselves and their mules. I applaud SE for the recent changes they have made.

the change to choco prices will be very welcome.. last weekend, at one point on quetz, mea choco was 5k+ ._.

looking forward to even more Ancient Beastcoin buyable stuff that i dont have access too X-D

the names of the new guild key-items make me think they have added "Lumberjack" like abilities to other crafts, ie: Cloth - Spinning lets you use more materials at the same time to make more thread at one time (basically a way to cut down on crystal usage)

edit: "Boltmaker" does sound suspicious to me... my money is on it being a way to use new synthetic materials that stack to 99(probably made with alchemy) instead of lumber.. a true godsend to Thiefs who <3 their X-bows :3

Trading will put the actual gil mules out in the open, maybe it is SE's way of flushing them out. i.e.... GM 'buys' 20 mil gil, Gil mule sends /tell to meet for trade... boom char is isolated and that account is banned. Seems like it could work, or the gilsellers will have to spend alot more on chars that just send 1 mil at a time to people buying 20-50-100 mil lol. It will definatly make things more difficult for RMT's and it is definatly the most aggressive step SE has taken so far in combating the problems of RMT's in the game.

Wouldn't SE have a record of these /tell's and delivery box activities? This isn't like real life where you need to physically "flush" the people out of hiding. I just dont see the logical reasoning of this as a form of RMT counter measure.

What they need to do is start a mini task force of GMs on every server that monitors certain individuals who are suspected of gilselling and see what trade activities they are conducting. This task force needs to be able to read Chinese, English and Japanese, because at some point they will need to start communicating regarding transactions then just ban them on the spot. Nobody is gonna "sue" SE for banning characters, just look at Blizzard and their tight TOS policies.

I doubted SE at first but it seems their efforts are paying off. Bismarck AH prices have dropped on almost everything. I would like to see that fix mentioned by IBHalliwell that removes the one slot restriction to charcters under the same account (mules). I don't mule a whole lot of money myself, but I figure its a harmless adjustment.

Anyone notice the change in chocobo prices? Thank you SE.

I'm glad you like my suggestion. (Rate up!)

The change I'm suggesting is not just eliminating the gil restriction. Like you I don't normally send a great deal of gil between my mules.

The change I most want for our mules is to be able to use all eight slots for sending gil to characters we own/control/play.

IBHalliwell - If you like my suggestion, please, feel free to rate me up.

I agree with what you're saying, of course. The million gil limit would have been a good first step, they might have waited a bit before implementing the delivery slot limitation to a later update.

I however understand that they wanted to implement these changes to catch the gilsellers/buyers with their proverbial pants down

One change I'd like to see, and just can't seem to find any place to discuss it, is so that a linkshell owner can change his/her own mules' pearls into sacks! It's terribly frustrating to have 3 mules and be unable to go out and hand pearls to people from those characters.

Rate up! I want this change too. Though I don't see how they'd impliment it; if they could adjust the rules for being online AND on the linkshell in order for changes to be made to the pearl, perhaps. It's tricky but it would be nice. I don't see a change coming anytime soon. :( The link list would have to include any pearl currently in existence, but I wouldn't mind being able to see a list of pearl owners who aren't online or don't have it equipped! Two birds, one stone? I hope.

One million limit and one gil slot limit

The following restrictions have been placed on delivering gil:
The maximum amount of money that can be sent at one time has now been set to 1 million gil.
Gil can now only be placed in one of the 8 delivery slots.

This should provide gilsellers and gilbuyers with an interesting turn of events! /evil-grin

The seller and buyer would have at least three choices:

1) Exchange X times (e.g. 40 time for 40 mil gil). Hope the buyer can count properly so (s)he doesn't say, but that was only X-1 (e.g. 39 mil).

2) Have the seller use multiple IDs to send the gil. Again hoping the buyer can count properly.

3) Meet face to face and exchange the gil. I suspect this is what they will do. (But we can't do this with our mules -- see my P.S.)

As for only placing gil in one of the eight slots, I think this goes too far!

There are time when I need to deal with multiple crafters, friends, etc., and I can't have my only "send to" slot taken up for who knows how long.

This change prevents a person from sending gil to multiple mules the person legally owns/controls at one time.

IBHalliwell - P.S. SE should consider lifting these restrictions when all the characters are under the same POL account. In other words, I should be able to send/receive as much gil and in all eight slots as I desire between the characters I control/play/own.

I think you are correct. Both of the new restrictions is on sending gil via the delievery box NPC.

As far as I can tell a face to face trade can still go over 1 mil gil and/or use as many slots as someone desires.

Personally, I don't mind the one million gil restriction between two players. Though this change will make life more difficult for my Dynamis group as buying stuff or scheduling runs can cost more than 1 million gil.

What I do find difficult is the one slot for gil restriction for at least two reasons:

1) I need to send gil to multiple people at the same time. I can't wait for a crafter or someone else to pull the money I'm paying him from his delievery box. I have other people I need to pay.

2) I normally send gil to my mules and at the same time.

I'm at least suggesting SE fix reaons 2, ASAP. Fixing it would NOT help gil sellers or buyers. It would lift a burden from players that has no obvious advantage to anyone.

IBHalliwell - If you agree, please, rate me up. If you don't tell me why and I'll see if I can explain it or improve my opinion. :)

IMHO, the gil changes are a nerf to Dynamis and HL inkshells, owners of Mules, crafters, and other players performing non-RMT gil transfers.

Yes, they can trade gil/stuff - but for a HNM or Dynamis LS treasurer this makes life a royal pain in Vaa'diel neck.

IBHalliwell - Rate me up or down. Please let me know why.

It helps with RMT I guess, but it's going to make sending gil among mules a pain at the same time.

Of course it does, and of course it will. This is the price we pay for ppl purchasing gil. Doesnt seem like too much of a sacrifice if it means prices continue to remain low.

The following restrictions have been placed on delivering gil:
The maximum amount of money that can be sent at one time has now been set to 1 million gil.
Gil can now only be placed in one of the 8 delivery slots.

SE has really steped up their game in responce to RMT. Banning 700 accounts and now this... wtg SE /clap :)
