AST (Alaska) would be GMT-9
HST (Hawaii) would be GMT-10
I used to live in AK, it was pretty nice when you had to go to work early and even the late west coast sports were over by 10pm, ha ha. NST would seem to be Newfoundland, but I wouldn't know.

meant to add this as a reply

Something that will never happen is an update with out someone here complaining about it. And only if it did happen would there be no posts complaining about the people complaining.

Sooo true.... Well at least this time no-ones screaming about a refund for th time lost.... I always got a good chuckle from the "I'm paying for this game i can't play! SE should refund my money" crowd. Oh well.. plenty of time for them to post i guess.

For those who complain about it being in NA prime and not JP. Did you happen to forget that for the developers, this is a job and like every other normal job it is a 9-5, therefore they are going to do it at work, which just happens to be in our prime.

So get over it.

Or next time it's 2:15 AM and your working the drive thru someone will be beeping their horn asking you why you can't close when it's convenient for them.

wow...just wow.
9-5 u say? I work in a financial company that obviously works 24hrs a day because the world market never sleeps. To say that this game is run only 9-5 is beyond thought. And yes..i have been woken up on several occations at 2:15am to listen to many Japenese and their problems. So dont tell us that this cant be done. The servers open for 24hrs....why cant the updates be as well.

So, imho...your post leaves me speechless.

Don't complain...I remember when I first got FFXI for my old PS2 (was only on dial-up at time) I had to wait 4 days to get it updated. Kept getting that 'too busy try again' error message after sitting there praying for 2hrs. Then there was the update which no one on dial-up could get and had to find a friend who had broadband or DSL willing to let you haul in your PS2 (not sure if it was the same for PC) to their house to get update.

My plan is to start download before going to bed and leave PC on overnight. By the time I'm waken up by the morning rush racing pass my house (sounding like not a single vehicle has a muffler or every one carrying a truck load of loose metal pipes) it should be done. I'll get up log out and go back to sleep until time for me to go to work.

Pikko is telling everyone to find something to do like she does, and download it later. She is being tricky and is gonna download it uber fast when we are reading a book!

I'm on to you Pikko!!

It's time they start doing these during the Peak *** Times. 15:30 PDT is what in EST. It would be wonderful they'd also show what the EST for updates would be also.

I'm sorry but it is absolutely pathetic to hear some of you complain about how you will miss a day of FFXI. There is more to life than this game. It is fun and everything but come on!!!!!!!!!

I just hope the update doesn't cause you to get R0 when entering certain zones >< (I couldn't enter Altepa Desert without instant R0 after the previous update).

Mine will take all night.....3 hour download!!!!! <Yes please> I just installed this to a new laptop. I left it on all night and it still said it had 9 hours to go!!! Got impatient cancelled it, came back and it showed a lot less time, I did this about 4 times and got it to download much faster for me.

I run my games thru a router via cell tower isp service (AllTel). It is the best I am going to have for a long time. I don't know what i would do if I actually did not have lag and could be fast!

So for those of you who don't have to wait very long, I envy you!!!!!

It's always sad to see people on the east coast unabel to add 3 hours to PST/PDT to figure out what time it is in their time zone. Is it really that hard to rememeber the 6 major north american time zones?

PST (GMT-8)
MST (GMT-7)
CST (GMT-6)
EST (GMT-5)
AST (GMT-4)
NST (GMT-3.5)

AST is Atlantic (Eastern Canada)

Not sure what NST stands for but I believe it's probably also in Canada, or possibly Greenland?

Would stand to reason that Hawaii and Alaska are before PST.
