Content Patches

Called "Book ##: Title" Each of the content patches expands on the Epic Book Storyline running through the game. Books 9, 10, 11, and likely 12, also have included a "Month of" for various classes which includes major revamps for the class and new skills, along with the minor tweaks/balances for all classes.

Book 9: Shores of Evendime

The first major Content Patch for The Lord of the Rings Online.

This patch went live June 13th, 2007 and added the first raid to the game. This was also the "Month of" for the Champion, introducing a new region to the game, and saw an addition to the music system in the form of .abc files being playable.

Book 10: The City of the Kings

The current Content Patch for The Lord of the Rings Online.

This patch went live August 21st, 2007 and added a reputation system along with several new areas and dungeons. This was also the "Month of" for the Capitain and Hunter classes, and saw the introduction of the Session Play system.

Book 11: Defenders of Eriador

The next Content Patch for The Lord of the Rings Online scheduled to be released October 24th, 2007.

Some of the major features include the introduction of a new 12 person Raid, featuring a Balrog, housing, and "Month of" for Minstrel and Lore-master. The full patch notes can be found here.

This patch also marks the introduction of DX10 support to The Lord of the Rings Online, although they are keeping DX9 support so there is no need to upgrade to DX10 to play the game.
