Holly crap! I guess I will give EQ2 second chance, the mane reason I quit was the whole thing not being able to choose your class right at the start. I played up until level 12 or so, but decide to go back to EQ1 just couldn’t see investing the time into the corrector to find out I didn’t like it at level 20, too much of a time sink.

I have a question seems to me like I read something about them removing the lock encounters as well? HEHEHE guess I blow the dust off my DVD box set of EQ2 for a reinstall. Me personally I was just blown away by the graphics of it, the spell particle effects is just jaw dropping. Crap lightning comes down and strikes your opponent it’s kicking up dirt as well awesome!

I miss the locked encounters. I have had a couple of instances where I was fighting a heritage mob where another group came in and strong-armed there way in. They ended up fouling up the whole kill and no one got credit. Sadly the respawn time was 3 hours. I was told that there is some way of setting in my options to lock my encounters. I just haven't discovered where yet. Does anyone else know where this is?

There are several ways to set Lock Encounter. You can go in under Options then the Group Options submenu and check the box Default Auto Lock or you can simply type /lock to toggle it on and off. Additionally, you can determine who has the ability to change Locked Encounters within a group to Leader or Anyone (also within the Group Options submenu).

Yeah I keep mine locked, there are to many pinheads on Everfrost that will attack your mob just to see if they can out DPS you and keep you from getting exp.

And before you say they are just trying to help, I know they are not. They tend to be high levels as in 50+ in commonlands (so they are bottom feeding anyhows) and they don't just help a little with dps but go all out to burn the mob down.

I think most of the people playng at least on my server are of the SWG mind set and not of the first EQ :(

I wish it was the other way around tho.

Ok have a question.

1: Do you get health and power back faster sitting, like in EQ1? I might be still to low I can’t tell the difference in the speed in which I gain health and power back standing or sitting.

2: I been picking up gear from mobs I been soloing which is an upgrade for my character. I notice a lot of it is better than my starting gear with stats. Is this normal? Is it like this through out the whole game?

I am level 12 warlock, and this floored me I bought a pristine priest walking stick or something like that, for 40 silvers I think. I was exploring and ran into a gnoll runt I remember because I started not to attack it. After killing it, a brawler baton dropt which is much better than the weapon I bought for 40 silvers.

I really hit the floor when I notice my character fighting style change animation wise. F#%@ he welds the thing like a monk! I mean with the twirling animation and all.=)

1) No sitting, standing, running, jumping, dancing, etc does not effect your regen rates. To cut down on down time just make sure you have good food drink. I use only player crafted food as it has better regen rates then the store bought.

2)As you go you will find alot of gear that has stats when looted. Your starting gear will almost always be the worst gear in the game though. Most people you will see will be wearing player crafted gear. Then as you level through a teir you will find some pieces that will replace the player crafted stuff. Most of that will be off of named mobs as alot of the other stuff I have found are just pluses to resists at least at the lower levels. There are some exceptions to this like the entire nightblood set that is really good for Templars as it has +78 wis over all on it and it is plate.

Omri, when you buy upgrades for your gear, make sure you get as much +INT as you can afford. That will increase your power pool and increase your nuke damage.

Some of the loot items that drop only give mitigation (resistance) bonuses. Those help, but are not as good as the stat boosts.

You may not be able to afford items for certain slots just yet. Don't worry, as you will soon make better money from better loot drops.
