this might sound a bit lame or dumb but i prefer katanas that are straight like this one. not the bent ones. ill probably use this one for a while till i get the ones that are exceptionally better.
I am currently leveling SAM and thought about getting this instead of a Soboro. My luck at Soboro runs have dwindled my hopes of getting it. Any way, here is my question. Has anyone figured out how to trigger the latent on this thing? It would make a nice addition to my store TP set if the trigger isn't too hard to make go off.
Is La Velue soloable? What level does it seem to be? Attacks? Weaknesses? Special moves?
I soloed it on my Thief/nin 75 quite easily. I don't remember if I got any exp after I killed it, but if I have to guess, I would say no and he is probably level 60 or so.
He had pretty low accuracy and does normal Tiger TP moves such as Roar (paralyze), Razor Fang and Claw Cyclone. He acts like a Samurai with Sekkainoki (spelling) and can spam two TP moves in a row, especially, below 50% HP, which seems to be the latent of this Great Katana. Be warned though, that when he actually did manage hit me with his TP moves, it did pretty good damage.
I have been to Batallia Downs here and there to see if it's up (like, every two hours or so) and can't find him. It will be a while until we figure out his spawn condition/time, I think.
This NM pops at least every 12 hours. Found that out when my LS member and I camped and claimed. We didn't get the drop but 12 hours later, we saw one of the other campers put Amakura on the AH. Its window is anywhere from 12 to 24 hours so far. Its not popped by moon phase or weather. Just kind of pops up, no place holders.
Amakura's DMG is comparable to Daihanna, which is level 59 and has DMG 72. I got this Great Katana from La Velue who was up when I went to Batallia Downs [S]. It is speculated on another forum that it can possibly be a 24+ hr NM. I will test out the latent later.
This weapon is dropped from a new NM in Batallia Downs (S) called La Velue. She's a Smilodon, and spawns in the central/southern part of the zone, around G/H-7/8.
