I've been an online gamer since 1998. I'm 35 years old. I'm medically retired from the Military. I read, watch movies, and play a lot of video games. Favorite games of all time: Age of Empires, Planetside, Neocron 2, Eve Online, Everquest 2, Allods, Battlestar Galatica Online, Global Agenda. I would add World of Warcraft to that list, but WoW has really made me pretty sick since it's release progression. Playing my first character to 60, at the games initial release, was a freaking blast though. It all sort of went way down hill from there. Planetside was a really awesome game for me. Because I was not really all that great at the other FPS games:Real Tournament, Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, etc, etc. It was more than a Kill/Death Match, King of the Hill, Capture the flag. It seemed to capture the essence and experience of actually being engaged in a real time, full theater war. That is what initially hooked me. Plus, I found I could do support stuff, Like be a dedicated Tank Driver. Or, something, and still be very useful to the fight. Even though I was not all that great running, and gunning. Everquest II was awesome. I actually played it before I played WoW, because it release first, like a month or two first I believe. The quests, and story lines in Everquest II far surpassed anything WoW has ever introduced to their game. The Dungeons in Everquest II were even constructed far better. I went back and played the original Everquest since I never played the first one. It was pretty good to. I do have to say, that I liked Everquest II better, up until about 6 months into it. They started "Nerfing" a lot of the game in what I believe was an effort to make the game a lot easier, to match the Easiness of WoW. It was then I got upset, and went ahead and switched over to WoW, with my friends that were already playing it. We played it for a year or so, then I got them all to switch over to Everquest II. They liked Everquest II better. The game I'm sort of looking forward to is Planetside 2. Possibly the next Everquest as well.
