A Day with SE

SURPRISE!

We have just arrived back at the hotel room after an amazing day touring the Los Angeles Square-Enix office location! Most of the visit consisted of "oooo"s and "aaaaah"s as we were floored with the all of the visuals and inner workings of the founders of the game we've all grown to love.

We will provide a full write up of the trip after we return home, but we were too excited to wait to tell you all of the juiceir portions of the meeting, particularly a special announcement made by Sage Sundi at the conclusion of the meeting.

They plan to make the PC version of Final Fantasy 11
windowable. Yes. You heard it here first!

The windowed version has been approved by the higher ups. Soon enough, we shall hear a formal announement and receive more information regarding this feature! For now, we speculate that this will be done via a future patch update.

Also, we mentioned to them how the drop rate for certain end-game items are particularly difficult. The whole team seemed very interested in our feedback (well, your feedback!) regarding this. Sage Sundi himself mentioning that we should expect a change in drop rate in the future as they evaluate that which was discussed. (More details and pictures later!)

Although it is good, I guess this is so late now and people will find it hard to swap to the official windower, 3rd party windower gives so many benefits that should be in the game already. Would be nice if you could mention some possibility of a pc only additions with it like more macro space adn maybe some kind of distance feature, the only reason i use windower is because of the huge macro boost it gives. With all the equips this game offers the limited macro space is just stupid.

Oh and seriously they need to take the king drops away and let them drop more minor things, the best items in the game should not drop from Nidhog only when there are far harder mobs out there. The only hard thing about Nid is claming it at this point. There are much harder mobs out there and im sure they will add far more hard things and at this point nobody kills them cause if Nidd/Faf is due and they will oinly be taken once those 2 are down. Make the best drops in the game hard to get due to needing lots and lots of people not due to fast claimers, with more people at endgame the shells should be encouraged to recruit more poeple. Best drops should be from the hardest fights, (earthen body, Riddill, Koenig body, Zenith body) all from 1 minor HNM is ridiculous.

While your at SE can you steal me a Wyrm Beard, Behemoth Tongue, and a Adamantoise Egg because Black Belt quest is so brokenly hard that only a few complete it.

I am obviously not one of those few. . . yet. . . maybe this year. . . stupid quest been flagged a year. . .

Suggest that they give people other HP options other then Whitegate. Please. ; ; This would severly reduce lag and server pressure. Also help stabalize sanity.

:D

You have plenty of HP options, whether or not you choose to pick them is your problem. You can always stay in jeuno, your home nation, other HP's in whitegate or even in alzhabi

But I'm very excited to have a windowed version come out.

No you can't, because all the games content comes from whitegate after 55. If you don't set your HP in whitegate, you wont be able to level or get anything done. No ones going to accept "k be right there in 30 minutes." while you take the Mhaura Airship.

And the Warp Taru in Whitegate is also very nice, because you can use him to warp to either Jeuno OR your home nation at a very petty cost.

That's just the thing, if you don't set your HP in whitegate, you can't play the game after 55. I want to be able to play the game without having to HP there all the time.

Why don't I set my HP in whitegate, then just silvercoin to jeuno or home nation, you ask?

It's troublesome dealing with the lag. And it's stupid to silvercoin to your home nation....then get an invite, switch jobs, warp back to whitegate, go back in moghouse, try switching jobs again but you can't because you're moogles being a congested peice of crap..Then finally manage to switch jobs, you zone out, you R0 for 10 seconds because theres a zillion people standing around the mog house zone and you can't even move. Then when you finally get out of that lag you realize you need to buy food. So you try running up to the whitegate AH, lagging all the way there, to notice the AH keeps being congested and you keep receiving "Search Failed".

Seriously, there is WAY too many people in whitegate. There is WAY too much lag. There is also way too much content there. Just give me another HP where I don't have to lose that content. That's why theres a warp taru that will warp you to jeuno or your home nation, so you don't lose that content.

I wouldn't mind the reverse... You have a npc that'll warp you from Whitegate to Jueno... Why not have a npc that'll warp you from Jueno to Whitegate? And make it mission based or something, kinda like you can't use the Tavnazia outpost til you get to 4-2 in the mission line.

That way, people can still use Jueno as a homepoint, and then quickly be able to warp back to Whitegate if something comes up.

Or it would be nice to find a way to "split" up Whitegate into different zones (East Whitegate, West Whitegate). I hate having to send things to a mule there, since it aways says "Communications seem to be congested." When I try to go to Al Zhabi to send things, the delivery manager is never there.

You do realise the Olduum Ring lets your warp straight to Wajoam Woodlands
right? The only beefs I have for this ring is that you can only do it like
once every 24 hours. I'd be nice if there was a quest to get it's cool down
lowered. Even if it was every 5 hours that'd be nice.

It's once every 20 hours, actually. But you also end up in the middle of wajoam, so any time you save is wasted by having to walk back through wajoam and al zahbi. It's something, but still isn't all that great.

Maybe you should have asked them why it is that when people hack into other people's accounts, they can help get dropped items back, but if they steal the items and gil for their own profit, none of their crackheaded, pot smoking gm dirtbags wont do a god damn thing and in a roundabout way, they tell you "Sorry, you're f_cked, we're not helping. Bend over and take it in your @$$ like the little bizatch that you are and gimme my paycheck for doing nothing, and have a nice day!"

Yes this does seem to be a problem. A friend of mine had everything that wasn't rare/ex taken from his character which was about 10 million gil worth of equipment. When he contacted a GM about it they told him not to give out his account information. He had never told anyone, not even his parents, his account info, but they refused to do anything. How hard would it be to look up where those items were sent? Don't they keep logs of every conversation, action, transaction, etc. just incase something like this happens? But no instead they say "Sorry, you're items are your responsibility. Don't give people your account info." Well that's a load of BS.
