Azimuth Circle Begins!

The days just keep getting hotter and hotter! But according to our sources in the Mog House Management Union (M.H.M.U.), the officials from each nation have decided to hold another festival to beat the heat! Yes, the Sunbreeze Festival is back with its upbeat music and dancing to bring cool breezes down from the heavens to Vana'diel.

The rumor is out, and the nations are getting into the festive mood. Volunteers from various shops and guilds have gathered to create town decorations and fireworks for the festival, and the moogles are out searching the nations of Vana'diel for Rakapopo Dancers. The goldfish scooping merchants are also hard at work mass-producing super scoops that break under the weight of particularly jumpy fish.

And of course, the master alchemist Azima is hard at work on-you guessed it-Azimuth Circle II! Once again, adventurers will need to team up and maintain close communication in order to find a specific target. It should be easy with good teamwork, but this time the event will be held outside of town, so you will have to keep a lookout for monsters as well!

Azima claims that she decided to hold the event outdoors this year to add an extra dimension of excitement. So with your heart racing at the end of the day, you can don a yukata together and have an even greater appreciation for the beautiful sight of fireworks.

Nights filled with music, dancing, fireworks, and games... Be sure not to miss this year's Sunbreeze Festival!

Is it possible to get the items from the first summer breeze festival the Onoko/Omina - Lords/Ladys Yukata? Or the items from the first Azimuth circle the Gilet/Top - Trunks whatever. I know you can buy the +1 versions but are you able to just get the regular versions still? Thanks for all the help!

Here's how my buddy Kitau did it:

She partied up with her fiance Holymoley and talked with the event mog at the Windy Woods gate. Once the mog was finished explaining how to play, they were teleported to T. Canyon. Invis and sneak wore off rather quickly, (30 seconds of so?), and didn't give any warning message that she remembers. I guess that's only there if you get teleported right in front of a Yagudo. :P If that happens to you, MOVE! (There's a lvl 1 restriction, so you will lose the fight.)

First thing they did was get together! <3 Then they rested, and after a few seconds they each got a message "the compass is pointing southeast." They followed the directions and paused every once in a while to re-check the direction. Kitau's compass led her to Holy's check-point, and vice verca.

When they checked their respective points, they each found a doll. They then used their Windy Woods glyphs to teleport back to the event mog, traded each other their dolls, then traded them to the mog. Obtained item: Onago Yukata, Rare/Ex Female Only, Def 1, Dispense: Muteppo!

They put on their spiffy new shirts and talked to the mog again. "I see your wearing your Onago Yukatam," said the mog, "Get ready for a real challenge!" They were then teleported to the Highlands. This time the compass gave an interesting message when they rested: "550 yalms... 680 yalms...." (If you stay rested the message will come up every few seconds.)

After much confusion, she eventually figured out that HER compass was giving Holy's distance to HIS checpoint, and had nothing to do with her distance to hers! They found that the best strategy was to find a safe place for her to rest and call out the numbers to him until he found his, then he rested till she found hers. Teleport back, trade dolls with each other, trade with mog, obtain item: Onnagimi Yukata!

By the way, if you check the wrong check-point and "find nothing," you have failed. Don't bother continuing, just return to the mog and start over rather than waste time. Some check-points are right next to each other, so be careful to wait till you get the "0 yalms" message. Another idea is if you have a high lvl friend or two willing to follow you around and kill the beastmen that stand in your way, it would be a lot easier.

Both shirts dispence 99 of it's fireworks once every 160 hours or something... and both kinds of "fireworks" are FUN! (One's more like a 10-second costume.) My fave thing to do is to use the longer-casting one then immediately use the shorter one and run in circles! =^_^= Some like to use emotes like /kneel to get the one firework to shoot up rather than out. Have FUN! :D

Azimuth Circle II Walkthrough (How to get your Yukata +1)
# Aug 02 2006 at 6:13 AM Rating: Decent
Actually, on both tries, the compass tells your PARTNER where to go, it only seemed like it led U to his the first time b/c u guys were together. I've just finished this event on all my characters (4 total) getting both the NQ and "HQ" and helped countless others get theirs (lost count >.>) My last attempt was trying to teach a jp how to do it, and he didn't speak English. It was hard but we did it, got his +1 and 18 fans for me >.<. I find it easiest to do it one-at-a-time, meaning one rest and gives directions while the other moves. All points are set also, so if u know what direction to take, and u've done it plenty of times, u can kinda guess what area the point is in. Worst-case senerio, an agressive mob have stood right on top of our check point and in the middle of a gobbie camp, and on top of the bone structures in La Thiene where 3 Poltergiest awaited us. Very easy and i enjoyed it for some strange reason. Have fun all! Humongous tip: don't check the first point u see in ur path, walk around the point and see how ur partners info changes. If something isn't right, it prolly ain't the right one. If anyone needs help on Bismarck Server, look up Mikelano
Keep up the good work

This was a bit late, I was waiting for it. But then it came, I got into it with a friend. We finally figured it out and almost fisnished it, found out checkpoints, but then they cancelled it. We didn't know, all we knew was our checkpoints and compass seemed to dissapear ><. But it came back and I finished it. You and your partner should get a doll each, both should be different I believe. Trade yours to your partner and vise versa. Then, as you both trade it to the event moogle, you will get your prize. It is a Yukata that dispenses a stack of fireworks(stack being 99 for this item) for about a week. I guess it's a reasonable prize for this quest. I am not sure if it is automatic recharge, but it seems to be. So I guess it gives you a stack every week.
