EverQuest Turns Six

EverQuest is celebrating its sixth anniversary, bringing back last year's fabled mobs and introducing a new batch to go along with them. From EQLive: ........................................................... Fabled NPCs Celebrate EQ's 6th Anniversary! March 16, 2005 marks the sixth anniversary for one of the most popular and successful games to hit North America, EverQuest. In commemoration of the anniversary, a Scavenger Hunt will take place and the Fabled NPCs will return with a plethora of cool loot and items. With the popularity of last year's Scavenger Hunt we wanted to once again send players out into the wilds of Norrath on challenging quests and epic adventures. Be sure to log in and check out the hunt over the course of the next few weeks. Cool rewards and items are guaranteed for those few brave souls up to the task. Not to be outdone, the ever-famous Fabled NPCs return with even more power and loot. Relive the nostalgia and battle up to 125 buffed-up, old world MOBs from original EQ to the Ruins of Kunark expansion. A few new NPCs have been added to the action. These include Emperor Chottal and his diabolical pets, Overking Bathezid and his minions, Faydedar, Trakanon, and the devilish Drusella Sathir -- just to name a few. 125 Old World Mobs! 125 Unique Fabled Items! Fabled Epic Mobs

Yes, the Fabled Overking still drops the cleric epic piece but some guilds just are not big enough to take him down. He's mean.
I can see where this is annoying. Just have to wait till the Fabled stuff is over.
Vox and Naggy

I wish that Vox and Nagafen were fabled. I missed out on killing them when I was sub 52. I sped by those levels too fast. I'd love to fight beefed up versions that would be a challenge for a level 70 raid.
=( Missing The Fun =(

I agree with the earlier post * making epic mob fabled might give some the chance to help take down the mob for epic drops that before was out of their reach.

I am so happy SOE decided to bring back the fables.Last year I found but one and i wasn't doing the quest.I fought the fabled fippy darkpaw(I usually play human) and found the mob.It dropped a fabled fippy darkpaw paw.I t added to my mana and charisma.Thinking I could just kill another one later i sold it and i haven't seen the fabled creature again since but now i can get it*Jumps for Joy*.

Respawn?

Do these Fabled creatures, like last years still have their 30 minute give-or-take minute respawn rate or what?
Scavenger hunt reward?
# Mar 17 2005 at 5:37 PM Rating: Decent
I heard the reward for the scavenger hunt was XP point potions that u can take to double your XP for 30 minutes. Is this true? If it is how often can you do the quest? Can you load up on potions or is it a one time deal?

yes the potion gives you 10 shots of dbl exp for 30 mins, no you cannot stock up, the quest itself is repeatable, however any completions after the first will not yield the potion as a reward. it is a 1 time deal
Happy Anniversay!!

You can do this every year and it would make me happy!! The scavenger hunt is great fun to do with your friends, the chance at great loot is good and if we don't want to do fabled hunting on some days the zones we normally fight in will be less populated because others are hunting fabeled's. It's awesome all around in my opinion. Thanks!!! As for epic drops, as I remember, the last time, the fabeled's don't pop every time, you still get a chance at your normal mob too.

I too was initally glad to see the return of the fableds. Not necessarily for the same reason as many. Mainly I welcome the effect this has on clearing zones I hunt in of the competition who are now waiting in lines for fabled loot.

What is different this time from last is SOE decided to fable many epic 1.0 mobs. Yeah thanks SOE. That Fabled Overking in Chardock just locked out countless clerics of the clickie sticks until this nonsense is over. Don't even get me started on how after 3 years I finially had a shot at my paladin epic but not now that every flipping dragon has been made fabled too. I waited this long I can wait longer.

Next time SOE, fable mobs no one hunts anymore like you did the first go around and quit messing with epics you have already made obsolete but which we still care about.

Actually, the Fabled Overking still drops the regular Cleric epic piece. I assume to stop people missing out like you described. And of course between fabled spawns the regular king will continue to drop the piece.

It might even help some people who may not normally have been able to get the help to go down there (guildless or whatever) to actually get that part.
THANK YOU
