October-December Announcements Part 2

The holiday season is here and the Final Fantasy XI development elves have been busy putting together goodies for all the good boys and girls of Vana'diel. We are planning our next major version update for Thursday, December 9. The details of the update are as follows: There will be several new quests and events added to the Promathia areas. New quests will also be added in Non-Promathia areas. New monsters (including notorious monsters) will be added. Over 15 new "orb battles" will be added. Several new weapons, types of equipment, and items will be introduced. The difficulty of selected Promathia missions will be adjusted. Tavnazian Archipelago supply quests and regional teleportation will become available. Chat filter options will be expanded. A new Gobbiebag quest will be introduced. Shortcuts into Promyvion - Vahzl for those who have partially or fully completed the Promathia mission will be added. "Temporary items" found on the Balltista playing field may now be stored in one's inventory for the duration of the match(es). Also several previous "special" rules will be implemented permanently. A new point system for rating Ballista participants on their performance will be introduced. The stack number for several select items will be increased from 12 to 99. In accordance with the adjustments, players will be unable to put items up for auction for a short period of time. Details on this temporary maintenance will be provided soon. Several previously unstackable foods will now be stackable. The duration and effect of certain foods will be adjusted. The Old Sabertooth in Sauromugue Champaign will no longer drop any items. The variety of items that can be dug up using the "Scavenge" ability will be increased. A new thief job trait will be added. The potency of etudes will be adjusted. "Spirit Link" will now heal a wyvern's status ailments. The accuracy of "Blood Pact" attacks during magic bursts will be adjusted. The strength of "Blood Pact" attacks will not increase as much when fighting weaker enemies. The order of messages that appear when using the /nominate, /vote and /propose commands will be adjusted The fee collected when placing items on auction will be determined by the current auction price, not the store/guild selling price. In addition to the changes mentioned above, many other adjustments are being made. A complete list of all changes will be available on the day of the update. Also, we are planning several new events for the end of the year, so keep your eyes open! Another issue being addressed during this version update is the monopoly over certain monsters and items by a number of players. The development team is currently working on several methods to combat these types of actions. Some methods include the introduction of similar items, and new ways of obtaining items. Articles 23, 24 and 25 of the PlayOnline User Agreement as well as Article 6 of the Finaly Fantasy XI User Agreement specificly prohibit the sale of any in-game money, characters, and/or items on internet auctions, etc. Any players found participating in RMT (Real Money Trading), whether it be buying or selling, may have their accounts terminated. Please consider the consequences before partaking in actions that may result in the destruction of all your player characters. Finally, for all existing and future Windows version players, we have developed a new benchmark program to test the playability of Finaly Fantasy XI on your personal computer. "Vana'diel Bench 3" will not only display the stunning landscape of the Lufaise Meadows, but will also offer a sneak peak into some of the most exciting cutscenes from the Chains of Promathia missions! To download this free software, visit the Final Fantasy XI homepage, or any participating game sites.

I think that theifs should be able to PK, like assasinate(sp) another player. Cause then you could solve the camping issue. <grins>

I think DRK need a new job ability considering they only get arcane circle(useless) last resort(30 seconds with 500 delay weapon = like 6 hits) souleater(only used in emergencies, kinda like a drk 2hr every 5 min since the drk 2hr isn't handy since you don't tank much with /thf), weapon bash(only used to grab hate), i think we deserve something like Aggressor that adds accuracy or a Berserk type thing. DRK need more lovin'.

Not that drks have much to complain about but I I think our 2hr should get a haste percentage added to it. Like 20% haste. And at 65 we should get a similar Barrage trait. Rangers outclass us so much by that point.

Wow. What lvl DRK are you. I don't think you've quite grasped all there is to being DRK. Souleater for one should never be held only for emergencies. It's one of the things that makes DRK's as hard hitters and they can be. You can always turn off any ability once you've activated it if you are afraid of draining ur energy. Souleater right before a weaponskill = ownage. Last resort should be used the same way with ws and you can alternate between them. Weapon bash is used for more than just grabbing hate. It's actually used best to stop bomb tosses and other Special mob abilities when ur in between stuns. Yes our 2 hr is pretty much useless other than farming or soloing EP's, but when it comes to getting stiffed out on things we're near the top of the list of the last people that should complain. Talk to a THF or MNK that hasnt been in a good EXP party for 2 weeks. Don't forget that only DRK's can use the ABS spells which make our stats sky rocket too.

I think alot of people underestimate the power of Souleater + Blood Weapon. I'm not a drk, but a drk that I play with often I've seen use this. Slams into them for an amount of damage that's unthinkable (I'm a rng, this will outdamage bullets 3:1 on XP mobs), instantly drains back the damage from souleater.
It's not a great 2-hour, landing hits becomes a definate issue (just like Mighty Strikes), but it works alright imo.

I kinda think DRG's should get something new....
Not much just a few more abilities...
I mean the abilities kinda stop at 50 with Super Jump....
Basically its Ancient Circle, Call Wyvern (of course), Jump, High Jump, and Super Jump....and thats it.
Maybe even 1 more ability at least.
At least something that would even out DRK vs. DRG PT issue.
And there is a lot of stupid rumors floating around giving DRG's a bad name >.>
Like our Wyvern also hurts XP in a PT like when having a BST in a PT with their pet.
Just some of the things I have heard.
I'm not much on speaking up....but....just saying is all...

I m glad about the NM thing and farming. I had an incident with 2 farmers on alexander there were 2 player not english nor japanese and they kept on killing the old sabertooth and I kept telling them to stop and they never listened. So I m pissed them off by voking th old saber tooth on to me and keeping him on me the player "ritaluse" got angry and kept circling me I know they had to be really mad for me doing that. But then I called a GM and they said they couldn't do anything becuase it was an unclaimed monster and anyone can have it. so I couldn't do the quest. so I went to bed and came back the next day one of the players was there but it was replaced by another ! but they let me get the tooth and leave thank goodness. I was really mad because the GM couldn't do anything really even though he knows what they re doin is wrong but now I m happy that they re gonna do something about. I was really considering of quiting if this crap was going to continue.

And I hope if you still buy gil that you're account will be banned, serial numbers deactivated, and ip gets blocked!

I am VERY happy with these SE Actions!

I hope SE has a lot of succes catching them damn gilsellers and gilbuyers, maybe they can't stop gilsellers... but they can stop gilbuyers (read: scare the **** out of those people so that they will stop buying gil)! ... and without buyers the gilsellers will be forced to stop their business at least on FFXI

Also.. all I hear (okok, not reading every single post) is people want the gilsellers to be removed, but as long as there are people buying gil, gilsellers won't stop their business and there'll allways be gilsellers.

Ggoo, Jakiller, and the rest of their crew. The reason it's assumed that they are gilsellers is that they group in PT's of 3 with THf's and Mage. They level only enough to kill their targets and are rank 1. They are in Ordelle's caves almost 24/7. I have actually been there when they weren't there once for about 2 hours. but other than that it's pretty much 24/7. They don't get caught cuz the way GM's check for botting is my sending a msg and waiting for a reply. THey probably have a plan set up that 1 person whereever they are is physically at the computer at all times. Think we're over reacting? The price of Archer's Rings a few months ago was 350k - 400k on valefor. They developed a monopoly (Ggoo has been the last vender 8 out of 10 last i checked) and now the price is 600k+ thereby increasing the price of Sniper's Rings. It's rediculous to say well find something else to farm for gil or do something to earn money. The way this game is set up money is close to as hard to earn as real life money. 600k is a lot of money to farm up and 1.2 mil is even harder. You should be able to go camp the Stroper Chymes and get the rings. Look i believe there are items and equipment that should be high in price due to their availability and the level of the mob that drops the item. HNM's and 24 hour spawns with poor drop rates deserve to be high priced for the ppl that actually sit there and camp them. What SE needs to do is develop a way to render FFXI useless on ur comp if any programs or other things mess with its components. Another fix would be an actual department within SE for investigating reports of botting andn gil selling. Cuz there current method blows. i mean it's fairly obvious if all a person is doing is killing stroper chymes all day in Ordelle's Caves, is rank 1, and 48 THF for months on top of months that something isn't kosher. Will SE listen to this? No cuz after all the gil sellers pay their monthly dues and the more accounts they have the more money for SE. SO what SE will do is the same thing the american pharmeucitical companies have done. It's far more monetarily beneficial to treat a disease than it is to cure it. They'll introduce similar items to treat this situation but they won't be exactly the same. this conclude my rant. Thx for the free forum to vent it.

All this other stuff aside, I had hoped they change the spawn rate on molborger(sp, uh the brown belt quest related mob in ordelles) cause I use to play mnk and never even considered camping him because it's a 24 hr spawn rate. I didn't want to wait that long to possibly not get it, die or not get the drop.
I do wonder what the new NMs will be, and if an item like emp hairpin will be able to be crafted.

I can see where your coming from, but then I don't. Some how I'm able to get tons of money even as a ranger, and one way is to fight for your own items instead of buying them off AH. The other way is to check prices around places including shops since sometimes it's cheaper.

I agree. Before I buy any item, I log in here and find out just how I can get it. AH is always my last option, though I do need to use it alot. NPC's usally, but not always sell cheaper than AH. Unless its a high lvl craft, or a high lvl/way too over camped NM (lizzie, emperor, or mee) drop I go out and get my own. Sure I don't have the Ochiudo's kote or Peacock charm but I still have what I need to get the job done.

Am I the only one not too happy with the way they are going about things? I hate the gilsellers as much as anyone but the new Jeuno tax sound ridiculous. It's obvious these game designers aren't economists. I'm sorry but have you ever been to cannotlinkto? These people are proffesionals; the only thing thats going to hapen is they're going to spill into all the mines (already happenning) and kill everything people level on for items. They're not going away and gimping NM's wont stop them. Okay the price of NM drops is sky rocketing I agree but how about SE regulates the price? That would help. When the NM's get gimped all that is going to happen is the price of crystals, quest items, and craft ingredients will sky rocket.
RE: Am I...
# Dec 03 2004 at 3:56 PM Rating: Decent
The auction tax is most likely due to the inflation caused by the gil sellers. With more gil moving around the economy, the only way to heal the prices will be to get rid of the gil. The only real way to get rid of gil is to tax (if you buy something at a vendor, you can still sell it back).

With the tax based on current auction pricing, this will make the gil supply deplete much faster than relying on the old method. Once prices are back to "normal", the auction tax will not be too big of a deal. People also will not be charging more for items to get their tax money back because people will not pay that much more for an item, and someone will always sell without the tax applied to the auction price.

Spoken like a true gilseller/NM monopolist....

The price of crystals depends mostly on the availability of elementals in specific key areas, which means the weather.
The price of quests items? You can't sell rare/ex items...
And craft ingredients are pure supply and demand.

i have been accused of being a gil seller,

i farm in a small corner of pashow marshes and because ive farmed there forever (like 8-10 months now) not solid ^.~. i was pulling the mobs faster than someone because i knew where to stand and wait and where to target stuff as they spawn in sequence. 10 min later i got a GM send me a message saying i will be kicked out of the game unless i report back to him! i didnt know wtf was going on but it was funny and i sent the guy a tell all i got was {i'm sorry}.

the point of this being people are getting o ready to accuse people now... it doesnt matter at all i had only been in the area 2 hours (takes around 3 to get stacks of stuff). people are getting too quick to point fingers. yes i do have the bot program (aires fisher) but my fishing skill is still 0 because ive never used it and dont want to.

people please stop and think who you accuse more often than not the people are legitimate players getting caught in a problem that just wont end!
SE's solutions
# Dec 03 2004 at 6:56 AM Rating: Default
ok i have not been playing the game for very long(about 6 months) but based on the patterns ive seen SE's solution will be to scew everyone onver, such as raising the tax to sell items. Another example(a little off topic) is sameri. To encourage more people to play sameri as main and not just for a sub, all they did was made it a worse sub, instead of making it a better main. As well as the whole multi hit WS issue(anyone remember when penta thrust was actually a good weapon skill) Finally, regarrding the gil buying and selling. For one people make too big od a deal out of it. Second, i do not believe it has caused many of the price hikes. Even with gil buying/selling, the amount of gil in any (server) economy remains relatively unchanged. Its simply been moved around.

All I want out of FFXI is a PVP (Player VS Player) server. I believe in would give people things to do when they can't find group for HOURS. I played on EverQuest's PVP Tallon Zek server and enjoyed it immensely.

I know there is other people out there who would want this too or atleast like the idea of adding more competition. This is would I believe FFXI should add, this is what we should request when writing FFXI a suggestion or two.

Also, regarding all the changes going on December 9th, its about time! :)~ I also hope they will add more class/race combinations at one time or another. Just my petty suggestions and my 2 cents! :)

Okay, let me rip you a new one sorta. When you say that Bard needs a new job trait and Thief doesn't, that it totally moronic. You know what WE get in the way of enhancing traits? RESIST GRAVITY! Yeah, because Gravity magic is such a HUGE problem, and it happens so often. I mean, at least Bard has a more realistic and more useful Resist trait. And if you would like to whine about Gilfinder and Treasure Hunter, we have to work hard for those. Much harder than any Bard does. When a Bard throws up a flag, it's almost a 100% that they will get a party. But for a Thief, it may take anywhere from 1 minute to 6 hours to get a party. (I'm not exagerrating.) So if anyone deserves this new trait, it's Thief. And hey, you know what? This trait might not even be that great. It may end up being something stupid like "Resist Gravity+". It could be anything, and we don't know what to expect, but I do know that we in fact do deserve it. {Thank you.} ^_^

I would disagree that Etudes are one of BRD's "best" abilities, in fact, they are pretty lame. Herculean Etude does a whopping +6 STR. Hopefully they mean by "adjusted", they will be increased greatly to the point where someone might consider using them. A note though that "adjusted" usually means "decreased" while "increased" means "increased".

Thief doesn't need another trait. I would agree that BRD sorely needs at least one 10-minute activity. 3 levels of Resist Silence hasn't really bought much but a 1:10 chance that you won't be silenced.

Since we're basically a pseudo-caster class, we should have something in line with Divine Seal/Elemental Seal/Convert. A 10-minute ability to speed up cast time (Allegro?) or double the next song's effectiveness.

And please do something about Mazurka. Needs to last longer.

Well if we all want to get technical look at this Ninja's have one job ability. Their 2hr. Ninjitsu spells are not abilities.

Summoners have 1 job ability. It's their 2 hour. Blood pact is the avatar's abilities. Actually we need more avatars :-).

Bards have 1 job ability. Their two hour.

Black mage, White Mage and Red Mage each have 1 job ability beyond their 2 hour.

Anyone remember back when there was Double Cast? Now that'd be a sweet ability for the mages.

Double Cast on songs, nukes, heals, ninjitsu. Avatar double casting'd be harder to do, but it'd be nice for summoners to get new avatars. (Bahamut anyone?). But alas no new avatars any time soon it seems

to be even more technical, it was "Job Traits" that were referenced, not "Job Abilities"... the difference being JA are activated and have a recast timer, and traits being passive and always being on... ie: Treasure Hunter is a JT, but Trick Attack is a JA. ^^

what was being lamented was the lack of passive abilities for bards... just check how many traits a whm/blm/rdm get by 75... bard gets 4 levels of "Resist Silence" by that point... and those are it >_< i too would appreciate more traits, like something that increased my songs potency, decreased their casting or recast times, and maybe a "Auto-Refresh" by 60 XD even tho bard doesnt have any MP naturally, the most viable subs for bards in exp. parties are both mages (whm & rdm) so it wouldn't be totally wasted ^^;; i would love a "Reduce recast time" trait, not to mention it would be a unique ability that bards could claim as their own ^_^
(and for those who say "but Auto-Regen is a smn ability." one could argue that "Clear Mind" should be limited to only one pure mage job, or that bst shouldn't get any form of "Wide Scan" since it's a rng ability... so the precendent is already there to share traits/abilities between multiple job classes.)

the "Song Seal" has been debated endlessly on the bard forums here, so i wont go into it now, but it could and would be a great benefit for all bards and every player that can scrounge one up for their parties >_>

Actually the next line addressed bards:) They get "The potency of etudes will be adjusted." Now what that means can only be guessed at this point, but Bards are getting updated, and the Etudes are one of the bards best abilities. It is the one thing only Fenrir or a high level alchemist can do. So, if they make these more potent, it would greatly help any party that a bard is in. As to the thf ability, I would say just wait to see what it is... I mean come on, we have Gil finder and Mug... You want to talk about worthless abilities... Tell me the last time you went to kill mobs for gil... Oh... an extra 10 gil, yay...

Anyways, I do agree bard should get updated... but it doesn't change the fact they are still a great and original job.

Vivacious Etude = VIT+10) or decreased (VIT+3) since they only said "adjusted" >_> also, there are two tiers of etudes... perhaps they are going to increase the effect of just the higher level etudes? <_< as it stands at the moment, i think the higher tier only gives around a +1 bonus over the lower levels... so not much incentive to even get them now ^^;;

as far as THF's new JA, im still lobbying for a reshuffling of some of the old ones... ie: rename "Mug" to "Pilfer" to keep it in tradition of every other FF game, then add a new ability named "Mug" which does "Steal + damage" once again in the tradition of every other FF game, then set the recast on all 3 to 5min or less... it truly would not unbalance the game's economy considering what is available to be stolen/pilfered is of such low value... these changes would be more to make the job feel more like real "Thief" instead of just a SATA machine ^^;;

I have somehow been able to enjoy the game during these terrible times=)It's nice SE is giving THF a new ability because like many others I have started to level THF in attempt to compete with those getting alot of good drops. With this update alot of players may feel they have wasted there time raising THF to 45.Hopefully the skill will make up for it.I wonder what the lvl44 THFs are feeling? The job and it's traits will be a little less affective now.Oh well.Good Luck all!!!

but what about the DRG's we dont have anythng wow we got jump, high jump, and super jump and it always misses.

I think that the DRG's should get an ability so we can ride the wyvern since we got them and they hardly do anything else for us except hit a mob for 50 hp thats like 150hp:3=50hp for us and its not faster to kill mobs with a wyvern.

I myself am a DRG so id love to have some more stuff. And I wonder what the other things SE has changed in this game thats still hidden.

OMG... this makes me kind of angry.. (sorry)
I am level 51 dragoon and having better hitrate then my 51 dark knight friend from my static party who has ACC+23 and DEX+6, And I have ACC+13 and DEX+13.
The Accuracy Bonus a dragoon gets at lvl 30 is imo an awesome acc bonus (must be at least a 10acc bonus but i think even more)
My Jump hitrate is something like 5 out of 6
My High Jump hitrate is something like 4 out of 6
My Super Jump NEVER MISSES it's 1 out of 1!! (I hope you UNDERSTAND that SUPER JUMP is NOT used to do damage on the monster!)
And really I believe other melee's are pretty damn jalous for not having anything like it :D
I mean... I can get hate from an IT monster even when the PLD from my static (who is a pretty damn good one!) uses provoke/flash/shieldbash/ and all his other ways to claim the hate... also the DRK from my static who i spoke of earlier in this post gets a lot of hate, he could even get a lot more then me, but he usually knows his limits not to get hate.
However, with the abillity to Super Jump, I can easily Berserk, Jump, High Jump, WeaponSkill at the start of a battle, there is no pld who can manage to claim so much hate at the start of a battle, so sometimes when the DRK doesn't have much tp (like less then 20-30%) and i have 100%+ tp at the start of a battle, I love to do the Berserk, Jump, High Jump, WeaponSkill at the start of a battle. Now without Super Jump I would be dead meat if I did this at the start of a battle.
So actually Super Jump allows you to have a lot more fun and don't have to worry about getting the hate. Super Jump is really awesome!

lol super jump doesn't always miss, it's not supposed to do any damage. it's meant to shed hate and that's it.

ok im a 45 DRG so i know what im talking about all the time when i use jump it misses so i think it sux there is nothing legendary about jump like they say "The Legendary Jump of a Dragoon" hit rate is like 3/10 and then my jump is hgher then super jump like if i use jump and its 130dmg then i use super jump and it only deals 56dmg

Maybe you should get some ACC+ equpiment, I am a 50 DRG and I hit IT++ mobs with jump 7/10 times. Oh ya, super jump doesnt do any damage, it sheds all your hate so you don't peel a mob off the tank

I'm 62 DRG. heres what i say Jump hits i'd say 8/10 times, High jump hits 6/10 times and does less dmg than jump, however it also removes a small amount of hate, Super Jump, does no dmg and sheds All hate from you. The reason your jump is missing so much may be due to you not having enough ACC as someone else said. best equip for drg is as follows. 2x Snipers rings (or if you can't afford them the highest dex rings you can get), Life belt (at lvl 48), mermans gorget (at lvl 55), Assault Earring (at lvl 58). for lvl 45 however, snipers rings are lvl 40 items. they may be expensive, but they help more than you would possibly imagine. I'd say for 45 DRG 2x Ametrine rings (if you can't afford snipers), Spike necklace, brigandine, leaping boots, emperor hairpin, and when yo hit 48 get a life belt. Hope that info helps.

Dragoon needs the help, pure and simple. Right now im lvling ma drg to hopefully end game lvls and ive already been told that i wont get a pty in under an hour before 55 lvl. This sux cause i really like the job. I mean lets face it, drg is really a neat job with cool AF armor. But it also gets allot of grief. Why? Because square nerfed the crap out of it. Square owes the drg job class for what they did when nerfing penta spam. As for thf, we'll have to see about that one, although resist gravity is kinda dumb. If they want to give a trait, make it resist bind or something.

What about all the mining spots and logging areas being taken up by gil sellers. Are they going to do something about these problems as well?

Check this out Guys. Here's an idea.

****Now before I start: I already made this post. but I didnt have an ACC. and the post didnt show. So I just made this account. If the post is doubled cause of me and my "anonymous" Ill delete the Anon one when I figure out how :P****

ok here goes... for a second time :P
A while back, many years ago. I played this MMORPG. I dont remember the name of it, but it had graph's similar to UO ( Ultima Online ). It had a system that im sure will work grand for FFXI with a few twicks and some work. But the point of the system is what counts.

The game as a moving bot, Omnipresent, that "poped" infront of people and asked them a SIMPLE Math question. always a (+) Question. ( 4562+3942= ? ) and you'd have 1 min to answer. If you didnt answer, or answered wrong. you'd get booted. Get booted 3 times and you get the honor of being "watched" by "someone" ^.~ if you are found to be a bot or doing "unatending" playing. you get the fun of being banned, destroyed, call it what you will. off the bloody game :P

I know this can be adapted to FFXI in a way. cause we ALL know incresing drop rates and spwan rates wouldnt do ANYTHING,c ause they will just make it a living hell for us crafters and harvesters.

Gemme some feed back.

srry but i gotta disagree ok i got like 2 mules on hades one is for storing stuf and the other is for storing and selling so when i go to school i can try and sell the Bonecrafts what i made because i really need the money and i dont want to get kicked out all the time im at school just for selling my stuff that i dont need so why is there a problem with having a selling mule???

(most people just report us for selling because those idiots think we are bots even tho some of our mules have the chocobo, or fishing stuff on so for crying out loud please stop reporting us for just sitting in the towns selling stuff)

BTW Zone you also have a good point, man imagine haveing to cut log's for 8 hours straight (>.<)

Sounds like a nice idea velastros, I would like to see something like that implemented. And for those who do play in shifts, well if a character is always in the same spot, or do actions over and over for extended periods of time, they should be watched. I mean who the hell can play 48 hours straight? true if they are selling stuff and just leave there mule logged on overnight, but then if everything is bought from that character, how are the items replenished so quick???

Then again what if the people who made or run the bots? Selling Mules? or NM Bots? are close friends to the GM's???? (o.O) As far as we know the GM might be married to a bot creator, thus they get inside access to like ahhh everything???? lol Just some food for thought.

After all GM's are invisible until asked to show themselves. Maybe they can also Voke while cloaked? Or maybe it is a GM teamed up with a botter, after all they are GM's and they could run around invisible. They may even have the spawn times down or just let the botter know that something will be spwning soon?

(/hmm)(/think) are they the people pulling the strings behind the scene's? is it a mass conspiracy???? are GM's in on gilselling???botting???? the world may never no

Any wayz, kinda makes you think about who is really playing the game.

I can, and have. I had 55 hours straight a while back while I was trying to PL some friends to level 30.

Velastros, I'm don't think your idea would work terribly well. We know that modern bot software (particularly those tuned for FFXI) is capable of some measure of message reading; whether it's done by character recognition or simply by scanning through incoming data I'm not sure, but I'm certain that if this kind of policy became commonplace, bots would adapt almost instantly. It really isn't so hard to watch for strings of this form and respond appropriately.

And even if I thought this would work, I'd still object. Frequently I leave my computer to go do mundane tasks; I don't want to go off to wash dishes or do laundry and come back to find that I've gotten strike #3 and I'm now under constant surveillance from Big Brother Square. (Not to mention the gigantic amount of manpower required to do this!)

I hate gilsellers as much as anyone, but this plan just wouldn't cut it.

OK you me (>.<), 48 was a bad number. How about this; who can play a week straight without ever logging, constantly harvesting log's or camping NM's. Unless it is a bot. Kudos to Fhathead for PLing friends for so damn long, I wish I could invest that much time into one sitting. School and work make it tough for me to play more then 2 hours straight.....but this weekend I am gonna put some massive TNL to my 18 palidan :)

All of you raise a good point. When I wrote my post, I hadnt though about the "bazaar" deal. Sorry about that, and to all you sellers that didnt like the idea. And another good point about the bot's being """"Smart"""". Well that's an idea down the hole, was worth a try :P. Im DL'ing the update, and its being a total pain. but I cant wait to see the new changes to the "nm drop rate & Spwan rate. "

Was worth a try, good luck to y'all, see you in the funny papers.

This games biggest problem is Gil sellers( People that play this game as a job for gil selling sites). This method would not work to get rid of these characters because they are actively playing 24/7 in work shifts. We call them bots because alot of em use 3rd party tools, like advanced voke programs(a program that would only target a certain mob and claim it as soon as it spawns).I think although it was a programming bug, the grace period(where the mob used to pop already claimed so no one could instantly voke it) should be reinstated w/ a variable time from instant to when the mob becomes active.
