October 29, 2004 -- News

Patch notes here, a small guide there, and you have today's news! Two more days till All Hallows Eve! Mwahahahaha!
Patch Notes: Live - October 29, 2004 - Version 103880.103882 SpaceUI * Fixed zone map reset button to actually focus on the player's ship Ships * Right clicking on a mission critical ship in the zone map and selecting "auto-pilot to" will now take you to it's current location instead of it's spawn location * When flying a ship, if you have no target and get hit by a missile, you will now automatically target the ship that launched the missile. Graphics * Fixed a particle object leak that would cap out the number of particles show on screen. This would keep bolts and other effects from being rendered. * Priority system changes for effects to help keep blaster bolts from disappearing * Fixed weird black shader on on YT-1300 Player Associations * Redeeding old (9-lot) guildhalls will give you back 9 lots, instead of just giving 7 (However, you can still recover the 2-lots by paying any amount of maintenance on the hall - no need to redeed it just to convert it to a 7-lot hall).

How To Enhance Your SWG Game Performance In order to help you get the best experience while playing Star Wars Galaxies, we recommend having 512MB of RAM or more. People who purchase Jump To Lightspeed are required to have 512MB of RAM, but all players get a significant performance benefit when increasing their system memory to 512MB RAM or more. If you are experiencing any performance issues, you should ensure that your system RAM is at least 512MB first by going to your Windows control panel and selecting the System option. Your current system RAM will be displayed on the general tab. You can also improve your play experience by changing the following game settings from the game options button on your Launchpad:
         Graphics Tab
              Check "Disable Bump Mapping"
              Check "Use Low Detail Textures"
              Check "Disable Multi-Pass Rendering"

         Advanced Tab
              Check "Use Low Detail Characters"
              Check "Use Low Detail Meshes"
We will continue to keep you informed of best options and recommended hardware configurations for Star Wars Galaxies as we expand the experience. Kurt "Thunderheart" Stangl Community Relations Manager
