MLG Anaheim hosts over 21,000 spectators

MLG have announced a record breaking 21,000 spectators at Anaheim!

With the stellar showing by DreamHack at their Summer tournaments, MLG had to step up and show why they are the champions of live events. Once again they have delivered. Before the event had even started MLG staff were excitedly tweeting about the number of spectator passes that had been sold, and now during the post-mortem of this weekends Spring Championship they have revealed a record breaking 21,000 spectators attended the event.

Hosting tournaments across the three main titles StarCraft II, League of Legends and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, with a collective $105,000 in prizes up for grabs, MLG put on a show to remember. With world class competitors from across the globe, including stars from other sports such as Dwight Howard (Los Angeles Lakers), Dez Bryant (Dallas Cowboys), Ty Lawson (Denver Nuggets) and DeJuan Blair (San Antonio Spurs).

Not only did MLG step up their performance, but so too did the pro-gamers. In StarCraft II, Polt was finally able to secure a major title in North America to crown his victories in Europe and Korea. In League of Legends, we saw the continuation of LCS NA, and perhaps the most hyped game we have ever seen on American soil between CLG and TSM, with earthshattering chants from the crowd. And in Call of Duty, we saw CompLexity rise to the challenge and end the reign of Icons Impact.

It was certainly one of the best MLG events we have seen in its history, and if you missed any of it, be sure to check out the VODs over on majorleaguegaming.com
