XL Games gives players waiting for their sandbox a taste of what's to come

ArcheAge is a game that is solidly on the radar of those of us waiting for the next great sandbox MMO. Well, the wait is one step closer to reality today, however, for now, only our Korean friends can truly get a taste of what's to come.

XLGAMES has announced that the open beta for ArcheAge will start on January 2nd in Korea. To gain access to this beta, though, requires a Korean mobile phone number according to blog MMO Culture. Bah.

But all is not lost, my non-Korean compatriots. We can still bask in the glory of the newly released cinematic trailer to celebrate the launch of the open beta! There's also a new teaser website available, however it's completely in Korean so can be tough to navigate for those not properly equipped.

In addition to the cinematic, several new gameplay videos were released including the basics, gathering, social features and more. These can be viewed here.

There hasn't been an official announcement of localization for the US or anywhere outside of Korea yet, but we have to hold out hope - after all, Psy is one of us now!
