League of Legends Lays Out Season 2 Championship

Next year - eight million?

Just as last season, League of Legends - currently the #1 multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game - swings its popularity hard, putting all of the world's best teams into Season Two's World Championship in Los Angeles. Last year, the grand prize was a cool five million. And now the stakes are set at a cool three million dollars. All the biggest teams will be competing - Dignitas, Counter Logic Gaming, Team Solo Mid, Epik Gaming, and Returning Season 2 Champion Fnatic MSI - as well as plenty of the potential newcomers that have sprung up in the preseason. As last year, it's going to be an incredible set of games.

Oh yeah and there's also a sweet video here too.

UPDATE: The original post incorrectly stated that the prize pool was three million for Season One and five million for Season Two. These have been switched.
