Few More Items and a Fan Fest

Seems Saturday is a big day over at SOE, see all the stuff I found!
  • Our new communication page is up! Click here for all the upcoming details on current and future publishes.
  • Please answer our forum poll on whether you would attend a SWG Fan Fest.
You can read the announcement and leave feed back here about the possible SWG Fan Fest the weekend before the EQ Fan Faire in Vegas this March/April. Also in for you Battlefield buffs, posted by Thunderheart yesterday:
Just to keep everyone informed, Battlefields will be closed down for a complete upgrade. As part of the team’s efforts in 2004, the GCW is going to progressively heat up. We want it to peak with re-iterated battlefields, completely re-vamped and exciting. To do that, we have to close them down. Battlefields are closed for business. I will keep you updated and involved with the changes. When the time is appropriate, I'll post an In-Dev thread so we can get your ideas on what the battlefield experience should be like. Are battlefields necessary

Confining the GCW to battlefields might be hopeless.

People fight where they wanna fight and player cities with bases and starting cities with recruiters are the current battlefields and that will remain the same so matter what they do to battlefields.

I think that the whole envoronment is currently a battlefield and the developers at sony should get on board with that.

There should be battle perks available at normal recruiters that cost alot but are designed to help in a battle ... like paying 1000 faction for a regiment of 40 troopers that last one day. Then when your guild plans a large assault you can have some awesome backup for a short time ... and 1000 faction is easy enuff to replace in a short time.

Or 2000 faction for some tanks or 3000 faction for a flight of x-wing bombers ... again that last a day.

Imagine anchorhead with several hundred troopers running thru it and a flight of x-wings bombers buzzing around destroying atat's ( not atst's mind you ) all while your guilds run around it trying to target an enemy player :P

And maybe 2500 faction gets you a famous player for a few hours ... pricess Leia running around with a T21 perhaps. Or Darth Vader makes an apearance for a few thousand faction points and hangs out until the battle is over.

Dont Vader and Leia wanna get into it in the trenches ... did'nt they do that in the movie's ? It serves Leia's purposes to rally the troops in the field and it serves Vader's purposes to use his jedi might to crush the rebellion.

And maybe Vader would meet a few player jedi's and would'nt THAT make for some good SS's.

*You have payed 4500 faction for 3 hours of Lord Vaders time*

--An Imperial shuttle lands nearby and Lord Vader emerges flanked by Imperial Guards.--

*A control device has been added to your datapad*

Lord Vader says 'Where is the rebel activity ...'

:P
