SWTOR's 1.1 Patch Giveth and Taketh Away

As I write this, SWTOR is about one hour into its hotfix maintenance, which is expected to last for another three hours, ending at 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm GMT / 7pm CET. This hotfix comes hot on the heels of some turbulent open-world PvP changes just introduced on Ilum where BioWare changed the daily PvP quest from capturing five objective points to taking out 30 members of the opposing faction. Unfortunately, due to some severe Imperial population imbalances present on most servers, this change ultimately translated into one of the largest cross-server Republic spawn camping sessions known to humankind.

Following yesterday's Valor grinding events, BioWare's Principal Lead PvP, Flashpoints and Operations Designer, Gabe Amatangelo, took to the forums to note that they would be hotfixing the problem (hence today's maintenance), as well as investigating any guilty parties who took "extreme advantage" of this situation.

While patch 1.1 did introduce many new problems to SWTOR, it should be noted that several broken hardmode flashpoints were fixed, including The FoundryBoarding Party (rumoured to be fixed), and The False Emperor. Unfortunately, players are already reporting issues in SWTOR's newest operation, Karagga's Palace, with some loot being randomly assigned to classes that have no use for them. Hopefully this morning's maintenance will come out as a net positive in fixes.
