ZAM has Star Wars: The Old Republic Beta Keys to give away, so get in here and grab your key!

With Star Wars: The Old Republic set to launch in close to a month, BioWare really wants to start stress testing their servers, so they've released a huge batch of beta keys for us to give away (25,000!). So no more moping around, feeling left out from all the fun; grab a key and feel special!

First some instructions: the Beta Key giveaway will conclude on Friday, November 18th, 2011 at 11:59pm CST. In order to be eligible for SW:TOR's next beta test (which will take place in late November to early December), you will be required to register your beta code on www.swtor.com/redeembetacode before the contest expires. If you don't register before Friday at 11:59pm CST, you won't get your beta invite and tears will be had all around.

ZAM i hate you all becouse that you have no more beta keys left can't a guy like me get on the action of this big MMORPG becouse i brought the game but my key was not inside nor the instructions and i did take it back to the guys at GAME but they did not take it so now ima stuck with it and i REALLY REALLY want to play it

So trying to verify my account so I can install any updates needed for the game...and they have a damn queue on their WEBSITE.

Methinks it's past time to upgrade some servers.

I got the beta key, and i'm trying to create a swtor account, but i can't log on b/c my email hasn't received the validation email yet. I created the account on monday, made sure that the junk-mail filter is off, sent multiple validation emails, and even sent an email to the help forums (I know the email is working, b/c i got the ticket # email from the site, but they have yet to respond). can someone help me out in what to do?

Based on my previous experience, and assuming BioWare follows the same procedures.

When the upcoming weekend is the next stress test, BW will start sending out emails on Wednesday, notifying people of the event. The email will contain all the information and links you need to DL the client and get ready to test.

As someone previously mentioned, the client is a large (~30GB) download. On a 12mbps connection it took me about 3 hrs to grab the entire client onto my desktop.

Also the heavy demands on the host server will cause you to get very low speeds if you don't have a fast connection. Downloading the client to my laptop (on a 4G wireless connection,) my speeds dropped under 100kbps the majority of the time, and took somewhere around 12 hrs to DL the entire client.

If you're on a standard DSL, wireless or gods forbid dial-up connection, expect 12-18 hrs to DL the entire client.

The only good thing I can say about the loooooooong download time... it was well worth it. ;)
