And the Jedi Have Become the Hunted...

In a shocking twist Bounty Hunter players on the Naritus galaxy found a new "Dynamic Mission" appear on the Bounty Hunter terminal listed with the hardest missions Bounty Hunters can get. Naritus is also the home of one of the few new Jedi Initiates..... Zina was confirmed to unlock her FS just late yesterday, the second such Jedi player we have heard of. Now this new "Dynamic Mission" is level 75 difficulty and only has a letter and number code as its name. The reward is 150,000 credits.... One of the Master Bounty Hunters, Nerro Elyst accepted the mission, the Jedi players name was listed on the mission in the targets name section. Nerro Elyst then quickly spoke with the Master level Spy-Net Operative and received the bio-signature. Nerro Elyst then attempted to track the player using droids but was greeted with a "your target is not online message" even though she was indeed online. Perhaps a bug, or perhaps the Jedi player had not yet done enough open displays of the force to give away her position, in the end though with Player Bounties active one thing is certain... It will be the players who will eagerly help keep the Jedi population in check... now the question to you is are you to be one of the hunted or the hunter?

that sucks, i want to hunt down the jedi but I'm not a master BH and I don't plan to. If you only needed investigation 4 nothing would bother me!
perma death for BH?

I think this would only be fair is if the player Bounty Hunter is killed by the jedi mark, then the Bounty Hunter also suffers a permanent death. Fair is fair. Right now there is virtually no death penalty for the BH who dies. This would make the BH think twice before going after a jedi, which is how it should be.

that jedis lose their skills when they die:
1. keeps their population lower
2. beeing Jedi is like are hardcore-mode
3. Jedis shound not use their force-powers when other people are around.
4. they have to hide themselves because the empire is hunting jedis.

When their reputation is growing, Jedis should not only be hunted by BH the should be hunted by imperial NPC ,too.

And that BH's get perma-death is a stupid idea, the devs have to keep the Jedi population low and not the BH-population.
too much Jedis ruin the game

Being a Jedi should be dangerous.
The idea of Hunting them is very good, because it keeps the jedi-population a little bit lower.
I don't want to see hundreds of jedis running around wit their lightsabers.
The only way for a Jedi to survive should be hiding.
Ord did someone see hundreds of jedis runnig around in episode IV. Jedis are a legend, nobody believs that jedis are alife at this time.

BH's don't ruin the FS-slot, too much Jedis ruin the game!
BH's are the keepers of continuity.

Personally I love the idea of bh's being able to track a jedi...but I dont like the idea of a jedi perma dying becuase some lucky bh happened to blast off a dizzy shot that doesnt let you get up..(totally not fair).

I look at it this way.....Luke Skywalker wiped the floor with Boba Fett....the baddest SOB in the galaxy....and Luke wasnt even a full fledged jedi.....so....a jedi knight should be able to waste any master bounty hunter he comes across.

Especially if that jedi is perma-dead if he doesnt.
Or....let the jedi do FULL damage on said Bounty Hunter.....NOT PVP damage.
THAT would even the odds..if I could do that with my wookie carbineer...there would be a lot less cocky commandos running their mouths all the time.

But as it is shown in attack of the clones not all jedi's are equall and the midi-chlorine lvl's in anakin, mace windu and master yoda are much higher than your average member of the jedi council. this means that the reactions of the lower lvl jedi's are lower and which leads to most of there deaths. Back to galaxies not all jedi's are goin to have the same mental skills as others and this could lead to the jedi's death.if a BH can find and kill a jedi this BH should be remembered.

I think this is a great idea. I remember the outrage I felt when I found out that the Jedi can't be attacked at will...but I was just misunderstood.

Starting out as a Jedi, it would seem you are safe from attack that you don't initiate. If you look at the latest interview with Haden Blackman on Jedi here: http://pc.ign.com/articles/458/458606p1.html

You'll notice that he mentions 'visibility'. You pull out your lightsaber or use force powers in front of Imperials, and your visibility goes up.

Apparently, once you become too visible, your name goes into the BH Mission Terminal.

For that, I say...GREAT! We aren't even to Empire Strikes Back in the storyline yet--this is NOT a friendly time to be a Jedi. Nothing would ruin the feeling of Star Wars than seeing a bunch of Jedi d00ds running around killing people in PvP without some kind of reprisal in return. Nothing wrong with the Bounty Hunters wanting to kill Jedi, either. Bounty Hunters are among the elite of the elite--hunting Jedi just happens to be the kind of challenge a BH would get a thrill from.

Also, once you choose the path of the Dark Jedi, you can actually work alongside the Empire and (I think) be safe from being hunted. After all, you're on the side of the Empire. This might bring a little balance into the Empire, I'm thinking, considering there's a 2:1 imbalance of Rebels to Imperials.

"Luke Skywalker wiped the floor with Boba Fett"

ummm no he didn't, by an event of random luck the blind Han hit Boba Fett's back pack and ignited it which caused him to slam into the side of the ship and fall into the Sarlac pit... that is hardly wiping the floor with someone....

"Luke Skywalker wiped the floor with Boba Fett."

Don't that flip your switch,
Just like the switch Han Solo hit,
That sent Boba Fett into the Sar-LAC pit?
Lest we forget???

Remember, though that Luke Skywalker was an extraordinary 'fledgling' Jedi. Being the son of the one who might have brought balance to the force gave Luke a level of power probably not common to the Jedi population.

So perhaps Jedis should not be able to 'waste any master bounty hunter" they encounter.

Jedi are persecuted or were in the film, so this is more than likely a representation of that, but like you said you should be able to at least run or defend yourself well before being put on any list at all.

hello, i am a fscs from flurry, ive sent all my info in to darkflame as well as like 20 sshots to confirm.

This new feature will go against everything ive tried to do in the past 2 days. I am a 4100 jedi initiate, so i can heal health. Jedi can never have terrain negotiation, and saber block seems to not work. Anyone with a ranged attack can kill me as of right now, unless they get close, then i will make easy work with them.

I've kept my name a secret so i dont get spammed with tells. If these bounty hunter missions tell my name, then its all over. I've told 4 of my most trustworthy friends, and so far around 12 people know my FS name. Just think, if some lame bounty hunter gets my name, the whole server will know within a day. I'm betting that most people want to kill jedi because they arent one. Try to imagine what its like for us. never being safe, even logging out isnt safe, logging in isnt safe. shuttles/starports unsafe. combat isnt safe... basically i have to spend 99% of my time out in the middle of nowhere, which also isnt safe because things can attack me.

With the title bug and lightsaber art bug, it makes it more difficult because joe schmo can tell im a jedi, even though im 100% covered up.

I think that everyone tho initiates an attack on a jedi should have perma death. If it were up to me, no one would know i am fscs, so in a way, thats keeping the population low isnt it? I am going to have to send in CSR tickets every day to get my freakin name changed because of people spamming the hell out of me.
I DO accept questions and chatting on my NON FS char. If you have questions, log on to Flurry and send an email to Almighty Sandwich with your questions. I try to answer them all when i login.

So my final words:
These missions need to be disabled until jedi can defend them selves or RUN. perhaps only jedi knights should only be listed on the terminals and not jedi initiates.

To clarify that Darth Maul post, I'm a Bounty Hunter, about to move into the second tier of investigation, and yes we have seeker droids and we call probe bots from orbit to track marks. I couldn't track a mark without them. If the jedi player is online and I draw his mark, you better believe i'm gonna find them, even from another planet. I also have all BH weapons skills mastered and I am looking foward to snacking on some initiates in the near future.

As much as I feel for the FSCS guy above, I think the worst thing that could happen is to see this game suddenly populated with a ton of Jedi wielding lightsabers running around! Of course their life should be Hell, running around scared all the time because the Empire controls the universe. Its the same way that any rebel should feel but doesn't. The last thing we want is Jedi's to feel safe so they can all grind their way up to Jedi Master. If you don't want to play a Jedi on the run, you don't have to. Stick to the regular character. I want to unlock the slot more than I ever did before, because I like the challenge of the hardcore on the run game. My advice is to find a nice canyon of your own on Tatooine to hide in to hone your skills. BTW, I am a rebel and will protect any Jedi I see with my life, but it still doesn't mean I think they should have it easy. Good luck to all Jedi!

I dont think that guy is trying to ruin the Jedi's gaming experience....it a part of the game you know...I consider it like hunting season..its to keep the population down...if you didnt have anyone to hunt down Jedi and kill them then everyone would be one and like would be happy because everything would be balanced and boring because everyone would be the same thing...so I say GAME ON!! to the bounty hunters..

Pistoleer?
# Nov 09 2003 at 10:16 PM Rating: Default
Wow.. if a BH that knows how to PVP at all couldn't take a pistoleer, then that BH was not a very good player.. after getting 2 trees in BH pistol, the BH can shoot as fast if not faster and has nearly hte same accuracy as the pistoleer.. I think too many BH's depend only on hte LLC as commadnos do with hte FT.. I dropped Master BH because after a while all I used was a pistol in PVP anyways. But to get back to the Jedi perma death thing I kinda think it's BS. And eventuallt.. according to the books anyways, at some point there will be a lot more Jedi's running around, as Luke goes around finding FS people to train.

The Jedi becomes huntable only after he/she uses a power and is TEF'd.

People can still heal the jedi, but cannot target the hunter to attack.

The Jedi Mark Mission opens up with Investigation III So far (Guildmate is at III now and took a Jedi last night on Ahazi)

The jedi in question payed my guildmate 150k not to kill her.

Thats a great idea. As now since SOE cant seem to figure out how to make player corpses stop vanishing they had to remover corpses from the game. As such, I dont even think about the "risk" involved with heading into a unknown cave or being attacked way out in the middle of nowhere.. Now imagine, having to mearly loot your corpse again, how dramitically it will change your gameplay. Now lets think of how gameplay would change if you char was set back to zero is say a mountin squill killed you.. I'd make damn sure I wouldn't get into that situation. If a BH engauges a Jedi and looses then I think setting him back to novice BH is fair

RE: BH Vs. Jedi?
# Nov 09 2003 at 9:51 PM Rating: Default
im sorry but any master that cant take down a pistoleer must be mentally handicapped in some way, just use fire knockdown then switch to a scatter pistol and shoot them with fast blast until they get incapped, they wont even be able to attack you back because they wont be able to stand up (FDK makes you dizzy as well as knocking you down, when you try to get up that counts as a posture change and it makes you so dizzy that you fall down again and you keep falling until the dizzy wears off which shouldnt be that long though for a pistoleer because they have a +20 defense against dizzy)

The information regarding Jedi death is inaccurate. When a Jedi is killed, the player's character is reset to 0 skills and is once again a brand-new Jedi Initiate. The character itself is *not* deleted. This has been clarified several times on the SOE forums.

when a jedi dies there character gets deleted but the keep there FS slot and can make another character

there aloud 3 deaths i think to make up for the ocasional time they may die because of a lag spike sending them linkdead in combat and such

that would suck eh arrgh i went link dead and lost my jedi to a kreetle swarm

# Nov 09 2003 at 11:09 AM Rating: Default
It's going to be interesting. Remember Jedi will likely have even more friends than usual. Many of which would love to chance to group with and help a Jedi. The bounty hunter may have trouble catching them alone. Plus... if the hunter tries and fails, that Jedi will know who to look for and could attack first...

It doesnt matter if the Jedi has people trying to help them its not a full head on head PvP server, the BH would be untargetable to the "Helpers" most likly as a duel would be thought of grouped members cannot attack 2 dueling people.

It does matter because a Jedi gets a TEF everytime they use a special move, so unless they duel with no specials, anyone around will be able to kill them once they use a special move in a fight.

because of the bounty mission difficulty skill mod, im assuming you would have to be investigation four to get a misssion like that. of course, if the jedi gets good before you hunt his *** down, you would have to be a master bh anyway to have a chance of killing him. maybe if they were right about the jedi not being good enough(thus the BH getting the player is not online message), then the BH will not be able to track him. that makes the bounty hunter's job much harder, and buys the jedi some time. there will be plenty of jedi soon, this may be the only way to stop everyone and their grandparents from being one.

This is very cool... these PC's are goign to be extremely difficult to track and sicne they are force sensitive the BH can pretty much forget getting the jump on a target. There will probably be some kind of message to the jedi regarding a disturbance in the force as soon as a BH lands ont he planet. Hopefully there will be some kind of balance so a bunch of master BH's arent chasing around a brand new jedi.. The jedi thing never really interested me until now.. but you can bet I'm goignto hurry and finish my BH trees before jedi's shwo up on Bria :)
