New Updates!

Straight from Bordael: Tailoring Added! This update includes the addition of the 4th trade skill - Tailoring! Visit any of the Seamster NPCs located in each starting city for more details and a brief tutorial on how to get started sewing your very own cloth, padded and leather armors! Root changed! Another important change we wanted to bring to your attention is the fact that NPCs, when rooted, used to just stand there and do nothing. Now, they will use any ranged abilities or spells available to them. So, a NPC wizard, when rooted, will use their spells to attack you, for example. Other Client changes: 25% of pet aggro transfers to casters when their pet leaves (either through death or dismissal) Included network communication optimizations in an effort to alleviate chronic Error 6 issues. Autoattack no longer continues when a target is not selected Characters may now experience a slight (a few seconds at most) delay before they can perform actions after teleporting or respawning from death. You can always move immediately - just trying to target or use an ability may be briefly delayed. This is to correct a potential crash issue. Corrected an issue with Scroll Acceleration throughout various menus in the user interface Corrected an issue that could allow players to refresh their breath bar underwater without surfacing Auction: NONE field added and default level set to 0 to help search for Misc item types in inventory for auctions Items: Miner's Shield is now equippible The Sword of peace, Whispering Dagger. Holy Sword of truth, and Sparring gloves now correctly have repair costs Bonesplint Leggins now have appropriate AC for their level Protector of Nife is now appropriately a level 47 item Burning Point now has an appropriate proc effect Fixed mirebone forged greaves to be usable by chain classes, added a min level, and balanced stats appropriately Quests Evened out the experience rewards given on quests for Dark Elf, Dwarf, and Elf Corrected an issue with the level 7 Gnome necro quest returning the incorrect reward Abilities: Corrected the level 12 Druid Light Healing spell to heal for the appropriate amount Lowered the lvl 27 Bard Dirge ability to cost 324 power Cleric spec Ward line of resistance buffs now lasts 30 minutes instead of 5 Tradeskills: Adamantite Opal Jewelry now correctly provides bonuses to STA Adjusted tradeskill item drop rates to include new Tailoring items. Reduced general drop rate of all tradeskill items. NPCs: Added an additional banker in Freeport to help alleviate crowding Increased the frequency that NPCs will check for invisible players near them. This will directly translate to more NPCs in the world seeing through invisibility. They always had a chance to in the past, but the NPCs didn't check very often. They now check more frequently. Updated factions for Lady Vox, Skyhir, and Minions of Vox to report correctly Item drops by Tak`Xiv Guardians are now stackable Jilop Brown Brown now has a unique treasure set Monks of the Endless Tower faction now views monks favorably Updated the rewards of Night Father in the Spirit Talker's Woods region Crocosaurus is now slightly rarer and also carries more valuable treasure

I totally agree, I have already complained about the lack of gems and the fact that merchants dont pay **** for the tailored items. Everyone needs to get together and message support about this!

If (if!) dex is the governing attribute, I would expect the formerly 'vow-of-poverty" poor monks to become significantly richer...

Drop Rate?
# Oct 31 2003 at 8:03 AM Rating: Good
I hope this "emergency update" this morning fixes the drop rate a bit. I have been farming all night and got a total of 2 gems....that's right...2. That's it for an entire night. And I would like to know how a spider and a snake can cast poison when they are thirty feet away. I cast on a spider and believe it or not, the dang thing cast back on me from the same distance. I thought spiders had to bite you to poison you (and the same for snakes).

Any of the gems for Armor will also work on Tailoring. And to the person who asked why have this when you have armor smithing the answer is Casters. You can't craft armor for casters but you can tailor for them plus make robes now. I've only heard of one tailoring specific drop and it was thread.

I was wonder what is the point of this if we already have armor making, like i thought armor is better then tailored clothes. Im not alowed to log during the week (cuz of F*ckin school) i was jw what the importance of tailoring is.

Tailoring Stats
# Oct 30 2003 at 6:56 PM Rating: Good
As the other trade skills have primary and secondary stats which increase your chance of success I must assume Tailoring does as well. Does anyone yet know what stats affect tailoring?

I would be assuming either WIS or INT is the primary, with the other being secondary
RE: Tailoring Stats

My main character is a Necromancer, lvl 34, sky high stamina and intelligence, and I was getting a good number of failures at tailoring. Intelligence is the primary for jewelcraft, so I doubt it would be the primary for another tradeskill as well. I could see it possibly being Dexterity, Agility, or Wisdom, none of those, aside from dexterity, are very high for my character, so that would fit with my success rate, or lack there of. But that is just speculation, if anybody knows for certain, please post and tell us.

And has anyone found any tailoring item drops yet? I farmed a spot for almost an hour, instaspawn skeletons, I got a good number of other tradeskill gems, though not as many as I used to see, nor as few as I had expected after reading the update, but not a single tailoring item. At this point I'm just curious as to what they are; Gems, furs, threads? No idea.

But on a side note, Tailoring can make robes, all of which seem to be Monk, Caster, and Healer equipable. Yes, you can now make Healer robes!!

Time to watch auction prices on healer robes plummet. Never again will a Chilled Robe with its lousy 8 Cr demand prices of upwards of 100k, when even a first level tailor can make a lvl 3 healer robe that gives acouple points of AC. But that's just my opinion.

Again, if anyone knows for sure what stats are involved in tailoring, or what kind of item drops are related to it, please let us know. Thanks.

Lothos, lvl 34 Necromancer, --Ressurection of the Dead-- Castle Lightwolf.

does tailoring drops mean that there will be tailoring gems that got updated into the game?
RE: Tailor Gems
# Nov 01 2003 at 2:24 PM Rating: Good
So I wonder if they even plan on fixing it, at least two of these updates seem to be geared, in part at least, to limiting the amount of money characters get and can have. No longer can you farm for two hours and sell 10k worth of gems in Freeport, and now your tailor crafted items don't even come close to selling for the price you pay to make them. What's the big deal about having a little extra money to work with? This makes getting money almost impossible for those of us on the Proudpine server where gems sell for half the price that they do on a more populated server like Diren Hold. I'm thinking about scrapping my lvl 34 on proudpine just so I can have a chance of being able to have the money to buy food and armor. As if the game wasn't time consuming enough.

The drop rate has changed.....so horde youre gems things are gopin to get really really pricey. And one more thing the sell price for tailoring is nerfed the completed items sell for 1/3rd of the cost to make the items......Is this a simple mistake or is it simply an extortion....to make the rick richer and the poor well poorer. If you dont have 750k to do tailoring dont even start till it is fixed....Just one concerned player on Ferrans Hope server.Gl to all of you.:)
