New Rift Trailer Features Beta Gameplay Footage

In preparation for the start of open beta tomorrow, Trion Worlds has released a new Rift trailer called "Cry Havoc." The video is comprised entirely of gameplay footage from the sixth closed beta event, so it's worth watching if you'd like to take a look at the fantasy MMO or want to reminisce about your beta experiences. Check it out after the jump!

No beta keys are necessary to participate in the "Telara the Merciless" open beta event, which kicks off tomorrow, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. PST and runs through Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. All you need to do is sign up on the official Rift site for a guaranteed spot in the event.

The open beta event will bump the level cap up to 42 and give players access to three PvP warfronts and several zones and dungeons to explore. The event leads into the head start period, which begins on Feb. 24 for players who pre-order the game.

I pre-ordered Rift (standard edition) from my local gamestop two days ago and I was wondering how the early access play works. Is it just for people that pre-order the digital version of Rift or will in store pre-orders also gain a head start on play?

All pre-orders get the head start.
