En Masse Entertainment gave us what we were looking for today! It seems that in March we are going to see our first community play of the NA/EU version of TERA. This event will not just be the first play event of the year for En Masse, it will also be the first test of their final server hardware. Participants won't be under an NDA, so they can share their experiences with everyone.

Not only did En Masse confirm a time frame for the first play testing we will see this year, but they also projected the second play test. This is slated to happen “a couple months later” and will encompass even more users than the March test. The purpose of the second test is to up the stress level on their servers and test out their account creation and administration capabilities.

After this second testing phase, En Masse plans on starting up their beta testing phases, which they describe as “a multi-part odyssey through TERA where players will be able to see the game in its various phases before we launch in North America.”
