TERA Boss Encounters from Korean Stress Test

New videos focus on dungeon boss fights from the Korean version of the game.

Earlier this week, Blue Hole Studios conducted a stress test of the Korean version of TERA.  The TERA community has seen a large influx of user videos and released content during this time, and we expect this influx to continue as the Korean open beta testing will begin in the near future.

What we here at ZAM would like to showcase is the large number of videos that were released that focus on dungeon boss encounters.  The videos that follow will showcase a few select classes and their role in party encounters.  Some of these encounters last an extremely long time, but please remember that gearing and experience during these tests were at a minimum, so the length of these fights will be exaggerated.

SPOILER ALERT – These videos contain boss encounters and even in-game cinematics that contain spoilers.

In the first example, we have two videos.  This first video focuses on a low-level encounter.  A sorcerer and a mystic encounter the boss.  They have two NPCs to help along with the mystic's pet.  This video gives us a great idea of the fighting style that sorcerers bring to the table.

In this next example, we follow an Elin Slayer through her tribulations against a monster made of solid earth and molten magma.  We can pay close attention to the “tells” that the monster gives us so that we can telegraph his next move.  This dynamic allows players to make educated decisions on when to move in and attack versus when to stay back and wait.  It also highlights the key advantage of ranged damage dealers compared to melee damage dealers.

In this final set of videos, we will take a look at the final boss of a level 20 instance.  This minotaur-like behemoth comes with friends at the beginning of the fight and summons more at a later stage.  The Lancer we follow shows us exactly how tanks in TERA work.  Notice how well this lancer uses his charge ability to re-engage after the monster jumps away.  This combined with his blocking ability make the Lancer a class that every party will desire.

Asian or not, it's an MMO I'm looking forward to at LEAST giving a try, and I haven't seen one at all that's peaked my interest since WoW came out (LotRO's good, but no real endgame and FFXIV was a flop starting from alpha).

I can't wait until this hits stateside so I can give it a whirl. Looks fun!
sort of....

You are correct that its very asian, however this particular iteration was designed for Korea. En Masse studios of NA is westernizing the game to fit the standards of the NA/EU players better.
