That's right folks! This week's friday press release has revealed that SW:TOR is now ready for Alpha Testing!

While BioWare has already noted that they plan to release Star Wars: The Old Republic in 2011, that still hasn't stopped them from kicking off their game testing (I suppose this would be called Alpha Testing) for a few lucky chosen individuals. These little batches of game testing sessions will focus players on specific areas of SW:TOR as the developers continue to expand and fine-tune their content. Also note that these phases will be chosen mostly from a North American playerbase, but BioWare plans to expand this group at a later time to other territories.

Finally, don't lose heart if you haven't been chosen! Just be sure to sign up to be eligible as a game tester and hope that maybe you'll be chosen in the next wave! Good luck everybody, and don't get too sad if you weren't chosen this time around!
