Tradeskill Data Collection

I'm building the back end of the tradeskill database at the moment, and in an effort to ensure that I cover all possibilities I'd like to collect as much data as possible ahead of hand. What we do understand is this: 3 tradeskills currently, armor crafting, weaponcrafting, jewelcraft. In each tradeskill, you may advance 10 ranks, upon which you advance a "tradeskill level". Essentially 100 steps. There are 10 Base ingredients for each tradeskill. JC is Iron Bronze Steel Copper Silver Electrum Gold Platinum Adamatite Mithril Special for example. Combining a block of the metal, with a mold will result in an item, presuming you succeed on the combine. You may additionally add a dropped component to the combine to grant the item additional statistics to it. This leads me to believe that we can pre-calculate portions of the tradeskills and tradeskill items available to crafters and players in the game. What I need though, is more information, so if you're a crafter, or have played with it, please post here: Tradeskill, Tradeskill Level, Tradeskill Rank, Metal Used, Mold Used, Gem (if any used). Thanks!

Tips on which tradeskill to choose
# Jul 28 2003 at 9:50 PM Rating: Decent
I've made it to Lv10.2 on Armor, 5.3 on Weapons and 5.2 on Jewelry. So far, armor is the biggest waste of time out of all the crafting skills. The only time I can see armor crafting being beneficial is if you want your Cleric to have more Charisma than Wisdom on your Cleric armor or you want more Strength or Dexterity instead of Stamina on Tank armor. There is also one point in the game where the armor you can craft is better than your quest armor and that's when you hit Lv28. Even then, most of your Lv23 and 25 quest armor will be better. You can also make some HoT armor for farming purposes. Other than that, the armor is pretty much uselss.

The weapons are about the same in terms of usefulness accept for the fact that there are more than likely more times in the game where you're gunna need to make some weapons w/ a high stat.

Jewelry is where it's at. Not including dual stat gems, you can craft jewelry w/ +15 to any stat for a Lv18 character! I recently made a Warrior and at Lv18 she had two items that had w/ +15 Dex, two items w/ +15 Str (my neck item was better than anything I coulda made). At Lv48 (Lv10 jewelry crafter) you can add gems that give +40 to any one stat. Not to mention you can craft items w/ AC or AC, HP and HoT. These items will come in handy for my Monk.

I hope tailoring or leather crafting is more useful than armor crafting. Hopefully we can make some nice leather armor for Druids, Shamans and Monks and making belts would be nice as well.

Rogue Metal adds a poison proc to your weapons. I think this is one of the more rare crafting items you can find, but it could just be the way my luck runs. I've only seen two of these drop, whereas I've seen 8 Vicious Vampire, 6 Negative Energy Stones and 3 of another mana stealing gem/alloy which I can not think of the name right now.

RE: Rogue Metal?
# Jul 31 2003 at 1:44 PM Rating: Good
I've seen one rogue metal and one malign alloy. Rogue metal does add poison proc to weapons and malign is supposed to add disease. Or something to that effect anyway. I say that simply cause the description reads that way but I haven't seen my weapon proc as of yet but that isn't surprising.
Vamps blood I currently have 3 of and have seen several more drop.
gems, stats, and lvls?
# Jul 28 2003 at 11:27 AM Rating: Good
so if i got this straight tell me.... if ur a lvl 4 and u make a piece of armor, you will only get a certain stat bonus of +10, but if im a lvl 5 ill get a stat bonus of +12? or does the stat bonus correspond to the lvl of metal? please clarify this for me.

its by the lvl of the metal, so if you are using lvl 4 metal you get the +10 and if you use the lvl 5 metal you will get the higher bonus.

Making Money Crafting
# Jul 27 2003 at 4:39 PM Rating: Good
When you get to a level where u can add gems/alloys to your crafts do so. It will no longer cost you money like the first 3 levels, when you sell them to merchants you will actually start to make money. I only craft when i have extra gems now and i always make a profit, i just keep gems i want in bank and use all the rest. This is a much better way to go because you are making money. Just and idea. :)

armor skills
# Jul 27 2003 at 3:09 AM Rating: Decent
a quick run through yeah right to much to be quick but here goes at lvl 4 in armor you can use gems for added affects. at higher lvls there added affects increase like sinhalite at lvl 4 does 10 str at lvl 5 it does 12 str lvl 6 it does 14 str but at lvl 7 it does 18 so thats what you can go by. BTW thats for all the single stats gems for those numbers. now the diffrent ones and there affects sinhalite = str, rhodizite = sta, rubellite = FR, achorite = AR, pectolite = agi, apatite = wis, zoisite = dex, idocrase = cha, amblygonite = PR, indicolite = CR,leucite = int, schorl = DR,dravite = LR,mana infused alloy = pow, titan alloy = hp. phew ok those are the single stats gems ok now for the dbl stat gems argh, takish ivory = dex and cha, marr blessed alloy = sta and cha, enstatite = str and int, lazulite = agi and wis, nephrite = hp and pow, ok now there are some rares and uncommon and common in that mix ill give ya the 2 ultra rare gems now, hearts blood alloy cant use till lvl 7 it does 6 to hot, mindflow crystals also lvl 7 does 6 to pot. well thats enough for now ill put some more info up tomorrow. peace

RE: armor skills
# Jul 27 2003 at 11:32 PM Rating: Good
ok i got some more info here. lets start with the gems the have dbl effects, such as enstatite which as i stated above does str and int. so at lvl 4 it does 6 str and 6 int, at lvl 5 it does 7 to each, at lvl 6 it does 8 to each, and at lvl 7 it does 9 to each. and that goes the same for all single stat gems on those numbers now there is a diffrence in some of the gems like the hp and pow gems there numbers are diffrent like the mana infused alloy at lvl 4 does 40 to pow, lvl 5 = 50 pow, lvl 6 = 55 pow, lvl 7 = 60 pow. the single hp gem is the same numbers and when you use the dbl hp and pow gem there affects are lvl 4 = 24 to each, lvl 5 = 28 to each, lvl 6 = 30 to each, lvl 7 = 34 to each. ok well hopefully that make sence to more then just me lol i have a ton of recipes it would take me all day to type half of them so i though this might be simpler anyway you can put these gems into certain armor molds only not all of them make breast plates and or bracers if you follow me i will try to see if there is a simple patter to that next and follow up on this time to go have fun in game. peace

i wanted to add something as far as the stones i put here all of them drop from everything i could kill, i got the ultra rare stones from the same mobs as the basic stones. im talking from hachling spider to cyclops, they all drop the same stones there seems to me to be no pattern at all, for now. maybe at a later date that will change but for now kill anything to get any gem.

Well so far with the way things are going i have found that yes any craft now is a basic formula something like this metal+mold+gem to create basically what u put in it but remember you have to be lvl 3or4 with armor i think it is to add gems until then youll have to be satisfied crafting complete and utter crap with metal+mold after lvl 3or4 in crafting skill things start to heat up though so worry not and there will be additions to this crafting art that u can be sure of the fourth slot is not there for nothing sony is probably trying to come up with the almost innumerable combanations that will be opened up as of when released because from 3slots to 4slots available in crafting is a big step and you can understand how it would take a considerable amount of time and thought to come up with all these new would be receipes

# Jul 25 2003 at 10:50 PM Rating: Decent
Ok this is wat i can say about armor crafting to know the result of the armor. First there are all the basic stuff. Stuff that u can is always gonna be the same such as adding brass and bracers mold will give u brass bracers the every time. This applies to all armor crafting. Then when u add a gem it takes its name after that gem such as Sinhalite + Steel + Plate Bracers= Sinhalite Steel Bracers

It works the same for the rest that i know of just thought i could clear some things up. If ya dont get it say so and i will post more.

Since I posted this info I have gotten another one. It dropped from a Seisen Disciple in the Shon-To Monastery. Seems that rare (less seen) gems like this are random drops on any type of creature. So going out and killing the hardest stuff in game will not give you any better luck on getting better gems. The same gems are dropped on low lvl creatures too.
RE: rare drop
# Aug 04 2003 at 12:19 PM Rating: Good
Yeah, I've found this stone (Neg. Energy) in the Elemental Caverns as well as in Aviak Village in Goldfeather so I'd have to agree, just a rare drop that is randomly distributed.
Same goes for the Malign Alloy, Rogue Metal and Vampire's Blood.
Malign alloy I've found in Collinridge Cemitary, Druuk Caverns and off of Coldpaws in Klik. Rogue metal I've found in Elemental Caverns and Baga Village.
Vampires Blood I've seen drop from undead in DM, Naeshirs just south of FP and deathfists in DFC.

Your wrong about the level. I've found at lvl 4 in weapon craft you can use recipes similear to this. Mold+Metal+Gem or Mold+Metal+ Some Special components including Rogue Metal(Makes a Weapon Proc Poison), Volatile Mana Crystals (i used brass makes a voltaile weapon but i'm not sure what Volatile weapons do). Ectoplasmic Crystals (Makes a Cursed Weapon, again i'm not sure what a cursed weapon does) I'm not sure what else you can make at lvl 4 because its expensive but i do know that you can use stuff besides gems, although you can't use Vampire Blood on any Bronze or Brass weapons with a lvl 4 Craft. Please reply to this if you know what some of those weapons does.
