Hunt Down Devs in Fallen Earth for Prizes Aug. 8

Have you ever wanted to hunt down and kill game developers in a post-apocalyptic world? Well, now's your chance! On Saturday, Aug. 8, both current and new beta testers are invited to participate in a "Dev Hunt" event in Fallen Earth. Starting at noon EDT, players will get the locations of the devs around the Grand Canyon Province and have to go hunt them down. If you participate in a fight or help kill a dev, you will earn points and get the chance to win a Nvidia video card, Logitech gaming keyboard, Razer gaming mouse and Fallen Earth Merchandise. You're even entered to win simply by logging in between noon and 3 p.m.

If you're not currently a tester, just head over to the official Dev Hunt page and register. The deadline to enter is Aug. 6 at 11 p.m. You can also read the FAQ for the event here or below.

Can I participate if I’m not currently a tester?
Yes, non-testers are welcome to participate. You’ll need to visit www.fallenearth.com/devhunt to register. The contest will take place on Saturday, August 8 from noon to 3 p.m. EDT (GMT-4).

What are the prizes?
The Dev Hunter (person with the most total points from the Dev Hunt) will receive an Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 video card, a Razer Death Adder High Precision Infrared Gaming Mouse and a Fallen Earth messenger bag and a Fallen Earth t-shirt.

There will be fifteen prize packs awarded in a drawing of players who login for a half-hour or more during the three hour window. The prize packs are as follows:

  • Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard, Fallen Earth messenger bag, Fallen Earth t-shirt (1)
  • Razer Death Adder High Precision Infrared Gaming Mouse, Fallen Earth messenger bag, Fallen Earth t-shirt (2)
  • Fallen Earth messenger bag, Fallen Earth t-shirt (6)
  • Fallen Earth t-shirt (6)

Are testers outside the US allowed to participate?
Yes, all testers are allowed to participate.

If I want to participate in the Dev Hunt, where do I find the information and rules for participation?
The contest rules and participation for information can be found below this FAQ on the Fallen Earth web site beginning Friday, July 31.

How will the grand prize winner of the Dev Hunt be chosen?
Participants will be awarded points based on the amount of time they participate in the fight against a dev. Additionally, any character in the area when a dev dies will receive special bonus points. The devs will be cast at different levels, so it benefits a player to rally against the dev of his/her appropriate level. Points will be awarded based on the level of the dev (for example, a higher level dev will give a higher bonus, and the amount of points a player earns for the time he/she fought the dev will also be proportionally higher). The player with the most points at the end of the three hour period wins the “Dev Hunter” title.

Will I be eligible to win both the “Dev Hunter” and a random login prize pack?
Yes, anyone who logs in for a half-hour within the three-hour contest window is eligible to win a prize pack. The “Dev Hunter” will be chosen based on the number of points that he/she acquires within the three hour window.

Can I enter more than once?
Participants are only eligible to enter the drawing for a random login prize pack once (only unique logins are counted).

How will I be notified?
The “Dev Hunter” and winners of the random login prize packs will be posted on the Fallen Earth Web site no later than 10 p.m. EDT on Saturday, August 8. Prizes will be mailed to participants as soon as they provide a mailing address to the Fallen Earth team. See the rules and terms for participation (to be posted Friday, July 31) for more details.

If I want to win a login prize pack, does it matter how long I’m logged in?
Yes. Only unique logins are counted, and a minimum log time of half-hour is required for entry.

Am I allowed to accept help from another player?
Yes, but points earned are not transferrable, so only the player who earned the points will be credited with a chance to win the prize.
